Licence plate number issue

Bros, I have full cash my bike frm a motor Tiam just so tt I cld sell it to another to trade in with another bike. Nw after abt 1 mth, the prev mtr tiam had asked me a sum of money so tt they can settle my previous bike number plate. They have also infd that the said number plate belongs to their company.. What shld I do? Issit true that when a bike is sold with a number plate, the plate belongs to the company wherelse I tot it's mine?

no. plate is assign to the bike and the bike is registered under ur'e name....technically, no. plate belongs to u, unless of cause there's a previous written agreement between the two of u....
