Hi guys, when I ride now my temperature needle always point to around 3/4. Engine does get pretty hot so could this be due to the radiator not functioning properly? Another question is the radiator fluid, do I just add regular water or is it some special kind of water?

Thanks!

I'm a smoker, by that i mean two stroker, someday I'd like to burn clean, but for now that power band is my nicotine.

Bro, try flushing yo radiator, replace coolant, try Engine Ice..Do check for yo Radiator Cap if its worn out, especially the rubber gasket around it..replace it if worn out..Hope that helps.

also check that the fins of the radiator (outer surface of the radiator) are not deformed/crumpled or choked with dirt...

water pump is in good condition...

and radiator fan is working properly if the bike has one...

Try not to put normal tap water into your radiator, will cause rust to form and accumulate in the radiator. Try to add premixed coolant or distilled water.

Have your cooling system checked.

You're riding a Honda NSR / SP rght?

check out the 2T pump and adjust the flow, if the temperature issue persists and radiator is in good condition. Excessive friction means lots of heat = can threaten to sieze.

Run your carb slightly rich to aid in cooling. Lean mixtures add horsepower but at a cost that's not worth it to a street bike, usually. JUst find that air/fuel mixture screw and open it slightly.

Engine ICE is a great product but for diagnostic purposes TS should stick to distilled water. Aftermarket products are not a permanent solution to any mechanical issues persisting. Assuming he has a stock bike...

Beware... engine ice have to change often.

There's so many factors that can contribute to excessive heat. The most basic you can do now is probably to drain the coolant and probably flush it with a tint of White Vinegar (mild Acid), this will help to get rid of scaling form within the cooling system.

Fill it up with Fresh Coolant, Distilled water with Surfactant (Waterwetter) is the best form of coolant for Singapore use, you can do away with glyco or Antifreeze....they dun really helps in cooling down engine.

Also you can change a new Radiator Cap, you be surprise simple component like the rubber o-ring at the cap could be the cause, I seen many that are render useless after so many heat cycles...
