Maintenance for different models varies. From very low to very high.

Understand that the KTM is a race-ready machine that happens to be street legal. If you don't already know, race-ready (or high performance) equals strict and more intensive maintenance requirements.

On the other hand, 4 strokes like the XR200 and DR200 are built to last, with a much more friendly (less powerful) engine. These little gems run forever with basic maintenance like oil and filter changes.

Understand your needs and choose wisely.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

get a KTM if u're serious into dirtbiking...

get a WR if u wanna ride it everyday plus some trail/track for the weekends...

or get the dr200 or the xr200 but its 4 stroke so dun expect too much power from it....

or u could jus heed our advices n get a KTM anyway...

:goodluck:

rien d'autre que le max.

I think your friend are comparing a scrambler to maybe an RXZ, a cub or a Bajaj for that matter.

These bikes above, fuel consumption and spares affordability will win that of a normal WR200 anytime anyday, hands down.

looks like u are new to dirt bikes and on the road....so would advise u to jus settle for a WR200 / DR200 / XLR200.......get used to the road experience, dirt experience.....and once u gain confidence and need more power.....then upgrade urself maybe 6mths to a year later or maybe even longer to a KTM200 or a 2A bikes.........no point to ride a fast and power bike if u can't handle it.....jus killing ur pockets and urself earlier
