Affordable BT headset/ Intercom set for bikers!

just like to share with you guys regarding a good lobang that i purchase online and recieve it today.. tested too and review as below. I am in no way benefit from recommending this device. Just sharing good find with affordable price for biker and touring lovers!

 

i going to intro the BT headset to be mounted on your helmet for you guy to

 

1. pick up phone call while riding while the other person on the other side of the phone have no idea u are riding via Bluetooth technology!

 

2. Stream music on the phone by leverageing Bluetooth and A2DP profile in most phone (subject to phone functionality, your phone need to have Bluetooth obviously and support A2DP)

 

3. Able to communciate/intercom with another set (up to 3 set but only 2 set able to communciate full duplex at the same time) with up to 500m range which is subject to terrian, obstaction and road condition. as state in manual, in general 200 -300 m should be no problem. Good to have for touring, communicate with pillion or fellow rider with same model.

Price : I have seen similar device with rocket sky price like SGD $400 for a pair of similar device. 2nd hand on Garage sale is also around SGD$300 for a pair of Biker BT intercom set. But you get all these for the price of USD$98.98(est SGD $145 +-) for 2 units set or USD$50.56 (SGD$73.32) for 1 unit.

review after using it.

 

Installation : less than 20 min. more time is used to adjust the headphone and mic in place. the rest is easy

 

Music : Reasonable volume, can hear, reasonable sound quality. Auto Trigger the music player on my N97 mini using the play button.

 

Phone call : chat with a friend on the go at around 70km/h around my place, comment from friend is it is like i am in a room.. clear volume.. i did it with in Full Face mode and opened visor.. might wanna try in flip up mode next time to see if the noise cancelling is good.

 

Intercom mode: not tested as i only buy 1 unit.. will buy another set for a friend's Bday..... so can test the intercom function.. useful when touring..

Hey lemon, I was hesitating to get this set, but I'm not confident about the overall quality of the sound.

When you say the music comes in in a "reasonable" volume, what do you mean ? How different is it from let's say if you turn the music on with your usual headset ? Any volume limitations, any bass lost or anything else ?

 

How are the controls while riding ? Easy to activate/deactivate the intercom button ? how do you control volume levels ?

That is really cool! Been waiting to get one of these babies for ages, perhaps I'll be getting based on what you said. At least it is something that I can use for communication with the pillion.

When i say the music comes in "reasonable" volume mean that u can listen to song, not too loud till u cannot hear ppl horn u, u still can hear the surrounding sound. however sound quality wise, it is definitely stereo but do not expect those plug in sony earphone quality with superb bass etc.. as the speaker is mounted in the helmet.

 

i don't know how many level is max volume but i can hear clearly without hissy bass breaking sound from the speaker 2 volume level below the max. tried the max volume, which is not good as it sounds like the speaker going to break but then again.. it is too loud! that level (2 level below max) is just nice for me. i think the speakers are w/o bass therefore it mean sound like breaking when on at max volume listen to strong bass song like Akon- "fire on the dance floor", "Lady gaga - bad romance". when at the 2 level below max volume, they sound ok... hope you get what i mean..

 

bought another set to give my friend as Bday gift, the intercom pairing is easy. and i can talk to him riding at 90km/h via intercom and he is around 200m away from me on PIE at around 11pm (came back from JB petrol trip ) volume is ok.. then again as i am not on max volume, so i think if on max volume, it could be louder. control is easy, just short press intercom button with my left hand (since right hand is busy with throttle and i mount it on the left) it take around 2-3 sec to cut from my mp3 / handphone to intercom mode. another short press to terminate intercom to listen to my song again.

 

Volume can be adjusted as the volume button is between power and answer button.

 

the only complain so how is sometime it hangs and can't switch on, which initiated i tot it is battery bad problem.. but already using it for a while, this can be rectify by press reset button + power to reboot the unit. u do not need to pair again after reset as it merely reboot the unit. For a period of time, i tot why the battery can only last 2 days max with less than 2 hour of usage. after that i found it it hang..and need to reboot in order to switch on again.

 

hopefully it answer your question.. like stated i do not earn a single cent by "promoting" the product but sharing it as user to fellow biker that might find this device useful like me..

hehe. u welcome! hopeful it is useful for biker.. especially for those who like to go on tour! good to communicate between biker and pillion. frankly speaking.. i already getting the 3rd set from there and i should be arrive soon! lol

 

1 unit i using, 1 unit give biker BFF as Bday gift, and 1 unit coming soon.. maybe as spare or mount to pillion helmet when go on tour..

my set is SKU 35613, but there is newer model SKU 41067.. but don't know is it better.. anyone wanna be test subject and report back here?

should be ok for all helmet. but i think some helmet model does not have the ear opening to fit the speakers. so after fitting, the ears might feel discomfort as it will touch the ears.

yes, it is transferable, can be remove as and when u want to charge the unit etc. yes.. my friend and i were using, unfortunately he lost his set in our recently KL trip :c

 

anyway, u can only pair up to 3 units and only 2 unit can talk at the same time

while 2 unit is talking, the 3rd one cannot intercept in until the 1st 2 unit drop their intercom connection.
