Hi Skunky, sorry to hear that.

I think you need some good cigars to cure your sickness, hahah.

Anyway, I need to slow down a bit this week having smoked so many over the weekend in HK.

I'm running a bit low on my double corona and piramides sizes so maybe next week I'm gonna buy a bunch of double coronas and piramides.

take care and get well so you can do your monte-rillos soon.

Hey Throttle, when yer goin to buy? I was thinking of going down to get a Monte 2.

Smoke on Fraser's Hill Top:

Hoyo Double Corona

El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme (did i get the spelling right?)

Montecristo No. 3

Of these 3, i think i will go for the Double Corona for a long smoke and the Choix Supreme for a not-so-long smoke.

The Double Corona was excellent! Very Very smooth draw and as you said, the flavor changes down the length. I especially like it when it's at the center and towards the end.

I'm not too sure in describing the taste though. How do you actually go about describing the taste? All i know that it was very good, burns very well and the ashes were very compact and white. As compared to the Monte 3 which kept dying out with slightly black ashes.

The Choix Supreme as good too but i find it too light for my liking. That's why I'm contemplating the Monte 2. What's your sugestion Throttle? (Not too expensive tho, on a budget. Price range around the Choix supreme and Hoyo DC is about alright).

Bought a lighter too. The Prince Pocket Torch, from OAKS at tanglin. Quite a nice chap. Name's Dani.

Folks,

I can get the Monte 2s from overseas but they come in boxes of 25 - and that's more than i'm ready to smoke :)

Any bros want to share the box? I'm only in for 2 to 3 pieces.

I got the Monte 3s for US$35 for 5, so if u extrapolate, the no2s should still definately be cheaper than what we pay for here. Let me know, the deadline is next week Wed. Cheers.

A well kept El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supreme will be very chocolatey and nutty in taste and medium in strength. I would rate the strength at 3 out of 5. The complexity is not high but the flavor is quite full and robust.

For the monte 2 it is a good piramides size but like most montes has a tangy undertone with a nutty base. It is not stronger than the El rey choix Supreme.

so if you are looking for something stronger than the el rey forget the monte series. Monte series are medium only.

try Bolivar for a fuller strength cigar. The belicoso or the Corona royal are good choices. full bodied and good strength. Partagas is also another good choice, the serie D no. 4 is less strong than the bolivar but stronger than the el Rey.

I personally prefer the taste of toasted nuts and tails of caramel and honey with a leathery and creamy draw. stregth wise i prefer medium. My favorite short cigar for the moment is the Romeo Y Julieta Exhibicion No. 4. My favourite long is still the ever pleasing Ramon Allones Gigantes.

I'll probably do a hoyo Epicure No. 2 tonite

ole!

Jock,

when buying cigars be careful of the authenticity.

also you cannot bring back cigars from overseas unless taxes are paid locally.

prices in Singapore are definitely on the high side of course.

Monte 2 is $32 here.
