ARjen, you can browse through the last few pages of this thread and you'll find your answer. this thread very informative too, you know.

however, every cigar is different and it is quite true that cheap cigars like cheap wines taste lousy. so set yourself at least a budget of $20 to try a normal small cuban cigar

Bro.

He do that for photo-taking session oni.

Our friend got dehumidator (is this correct?) one. His cigar is fresh. I taste liao and its magnificent (Ok I know it sounded kinky but you got yellow mind if u think of it as something else)

Anyways, wish i could grab my hands on those cigars and scram siah! :faint:

And Throt. What you said that night is true. I really could feel the different aroma and taste at different parts of the cigar.

Absolutely marvellous bro.

Really thanks for letting me try your cigar k. (Again, anyone think that statement is kinky deserves to be shot :nono:)

Thanks Throt :thumb:

Glad you like it, Naz. Cigars usually taste a little bland at the start or the first half inch of burn. down the middle is my favourite. at the end becos it is near to your mouth , the cigar can be quite spicy.

I got 2 humidors, that's what they are called actually.

Arjen

Sometimes good to take out and admire the cigars, hahahaah.

Singapore humidity and temp is quite OK for cigars. as long as not in air con room and dont leave it out for too long.

When you buy cigars in shops, take note to reject cigars with cracked wrappers in the middle becos smoke will escape and burn will be irregular.

did a Punch Punch last nite. hhhmmmm.....mellow taste but rich in aroma and fluid in draw

actually i find that even some of the "cheaper" cigars like those $18 or $19 types can be not bad, if the tobacco comes from a good company.

Of course lah, like many things the more expensive the better.

I think $25 for a cigar quite reasonable. Beats cigarettes anytime. Maybe even sex. Muahahaha.

Yes, there are quite a few value for money smokes which are below $20.

Ranging from the standrad tubos from Romeo Y Julieta , Punch Hoyo de Montery, H Upmann and even the ever popular Monte 4.

For beginner willing to spend about $20- 25, I would recommend the H Upmann Connoisseur No. 1. This a a beautifully blended cigar with strong aroma and a rather nutty taste. The cigar burns evenly throughout and the draw is rich and leathery and creamy. size is Robusto so good for a 40min smoke. Price is only $22 from Oaks, I think.

those who are keen quickly go and buy now becos the Connoisseur No 1 is really value for money hermoso no. 4. Sooner or later , people will realise that and the price will shoot up. It is cabinet series Flor de ExtraFina and comes without a band around it.

hi there, just t share with you all my 1st try with a cigar just now...

got this cigar brand call "henri wintermans" as a birthday gift in sept.. but then it was today then i open the case, unwrap the plastic and smoke o_O

1st light.. wah damn shiok... the amount of smoke i blow out.. like never ending like that hahaa... also.. cannot get use to the big fat stick of the cigar, my mouth open too big until it cramped a little i swear.. saliva all over the filter

overall feeling... just feels great!!

btw can we like extinguish the cigar and smoke it again later? i didnt know whether the cig will "spoil or not" so i finish the whole stick just now o_O

too bad no camera, else will be glad to show u all the cigar sticking out from my mouth o_O

hi kuku bird

glad you enjoyed the whole ritual especially since it's your first try

Just a note on henri wintermans, dannemans, villager and other machine made cigars. they are absolutely not considered respectable cigars. they are machine made and the taste is bland, flat and grassy compared to a habana and the draw is loose and weak. but it is an OK start to picking up cigar smoking.

the answer to your question, no you cannot extinguish cigar to smoke it later.

My advice to first timers. try a Dominican Republic totally hand made cigar first.

these are still very good quality cigars which exhibit the natures of a real cigar. forget the machine made ones like henri wintermans, villager, danneman independence etc......

to try cheap yet good dominican republic cigars, i recommend the following

Don Diego - very value for money.

Macanudo - good price

Arturo Fuente - good price

AVO - good price

Davidoff - high end

Zino - good price

however, once you have acquired the palate for cigars, try a solid rich habana.

then you will not want to smoke others anymore.

hahahahaha..
