Thanks well, we'll let vyruz lead us this time and give us a splendid exploration of the beautiful Singapore in the early hours of dawn!!

Just need wait for his clearance of arrival of new helmet and when he fills me in with the ride details (:

:) Helmet delivery now delayed until Sat evening! God I hope he doesn't delay anymore or it'll be another Sunday without a ride! I will get back to you guys Sat late evening, ok? Say by 7pm or so.

Heh heh, good luck getting me to lead, my friends. I've only been in Singapore for three years and been biking only for a few months - I barely know the roads around my area, let alone the proper riding roads. :) Can I please pass the leadership torch back to one of you?

Just head over to the Toa Payoh Club thread and pick which of my dark jedi apprentices you want to deploy in front. Each have their own character feats and skills :D

Alternatively we'll just follow you anyway as you explore Singapore and let you have peace of mind leading without anyone cutting in front, randomly crashing into each other, etc. Like proper Victorian-educated children we'll only speak only when spoken to, how's that for hospitality :D

Went to finally change my battery, and learned that it's been 3 years since it was last changed (Changed on 21-02-2007)!!

Hahaa, now no more headlights dying off randomly at important parts of my ride when I need light!

I will be leading the conyor on Sunday Morning for the ride (:

You can be the last for Safety Escort and FSRP (Fast-Service-Rescue-Paramedic)!

Cheers bro

I'll deal with the convoy organisation / security if you don't mind. VIPs go in the middle, vigilantes in the rear :p

I'll also want people like ProfCJP to get leadership time. Slowest bikes in front to set the pace.

Disagreement? Split convoy in two, I have my team tactics, you have your preferences.

I'm fine with anything bro.

Yeah we can let ProfCJC lead too, no issue (:

You can help control conyor organization and safety too, no worries yup.

Actually we can ride anywhere the newbies feel like, I'm totally fine with anything.

Hi Nabil thanks for the kind understanding.

I have a plan for you and Vyruz on your fast craft to have maximum fun on the sunrise interception. You'll simply be the first two bikes of the convoy while TPY crew tags along. We're trying to develop our own format of easy-to-learn and safe convoying practises without the "follow strict rules and regs" part.

That said this weekend I intend to borrow a page from the Air Force and run in pairs instead of formations of 6-12.

It will look like you and vyruz are having the best view from the front and set the pace while the two or three other pairs behind you will not intrude upon your space in any way, nor will we do anything funny. The point of riding in pairs is to group riders with similar styles together and each pair protects the one in front of it.

I'll take up the rear with likely Thomas and do the usual rearguard thing to keep any aggro drivers at bay.

Ze Plan! (Nabil ran this course, or part of it [stage 2], 3-4 weeks ago, it's brilliant!)

Event Summary:

Sunrise Interception by Nabil15

Sunday, 26/9/10

Please refer to Nabil's excellent guidelines for event details. We'll be enjoying Nabil's expertise in navigation and knowledge of fun places :D

I'll focus on getting us the riders to those fun places in one piece.

Start Point : TPY Lor 5 Esso Station 6.20am

Please try to be punctual, we do not want to miss the sunrise!

I'll give what passes for a safety briefing before launching the convoy.

Stage 1: Escape from Toa Payoh

Cat will lead the way

I'll show you how to get out of car-jammed TPY by use of a 'secret road' avoiding the usual routes of Braddell Flyover (CTE) and the Descending Spiral of Doom (PIE Westbound).

Nabil will take command of the convoy for Stage 2:

Stage 2 : Sunrise Interception

Nabil leads the crew up the Sheares Bridge and on to cruise down an empty ECP towards Bayshore and the scenic point at Changi Beach.

From this point on, @nabil15 (Lead Navigator) and @vyruz (VIP) are at the head of the convoy. @KJ. and @ProfCJP make a great team as the convoy body and @Thomaswongkk and Cat bring up the rear defending the squadron from crazy taxis and the like.

Photo shoot at Changi Beach.

Stage 3 : Industrial Highway

I doubt any of us can find our way into that strange unused road connecting Paya Lebar to Hougang, so I'll lead the way back west.

We'll be going at a slower pace than when we did that "simulated desert conditions" rally two Sundays ago so enjoy the sight of huge open fields and a totally deserted motorway.

The end point is the breakfast site at Hougang "PK's Place"

Sounds good Kenny.

Will be looking forward to it on Sunday Morning, I'll post up @vyruz (VIP) status (Going Or Not, by Saturday Night)

Wow this Sat night thing is really taking off!

I want to join in again!

Hey yeah come on Sunday for the ride man, we are meeting at 6.00am and leaving at 6.20am. Meeting at toa payor lor 5 esso station.

We'd love if you can join us this Sunday for the morning ride!

Most powderful local sunday morning outing ever!

Check out ride report @ TPY club

Exactly, you guys surprised me with the turnout, and I must say I am extremely pleased with everyones punctuality, most thanks go to you Kenny, for organizing all!

Please visit Midnight Outings thread for a wonderfully planned ride to come this Saturday Night, 2nd Oct by our dearest, pandora's kitten.

Cheers and ride safe people

I will keep meowing at you if you call me that lol. As a reminder lmao.

Yes, the 2 Oct midnight run is on. While not technically as interesting and far-ranging as a Malaysian outing, chaining together all of Singapore's roads into one big course is a good recipe for an introduction to sports touring.

No excessive speed required, since we are in our homeland :D

Just remember to turn up in safety gears if you have them. There will be some advanced riding theory discussions in the menu, along with the usual tech. talk.
