try to be more open-minded and relaxed during and after your training. don't think with a straight mind but a smart one. and try to be more 'out of the book'.

just my comment, ah.

have friends who go into commando and very tik tik one...always go by the book, not flexable.

other than that, enjoy yourself always.

I'm not from CDO...I'm just a rifleman from 1SIR. Happened to chance on this thread. I feel that...having to be able to earn that red beret and to wear that is in itself the only thing that offers the most pride when you're in the SAF. But I might still be wrong.

Whether you're in Infantry, Guards, Armour, Commandos or wherever. Right down to a clerk in CMPB. The 2 years or so that you spend as a NSF will only be as fun, memorable and meaningful as you want it to be. Whether you have a good time or not is up to you to make it happen. I do admit that the trainings vary for the different vocations, but at the end of it all, Waht do you want out of it? It's only for 2 years. Do it once. Do it good. Everyone has to go through it. And you're never the only person because there'll always be someone there beside you. Might as well just face it like a man.

The grass is always greener on the other side, but everyone serves their own sh*t. So I don't think comparing would do anyone justice. My utmost respect to those in CDO and SOF. Props to Guards and Armour.

At the end of it all...I still believe that if you gave it your best, you will one day look back and realise that it was all good.

Respect.

Btw...I think the CDO with their act this year at NDP was really cool. Yeah...those who have done it may find it nothing. Well, if it's the SAF, it's all wayang. But I guess their aim is to wayang...and to impress. And it sure worked. If not with the spectators, it sure impressed me. I think it was great.

But I still think I liked the fighter jets the most... :p

imagine with just a few jets flying overhead, the stadium shaing liao. If a whole squadron fly over, do you think the stadium will collapse?

Yeap...which is why I think they gonna demolish it before we have another Nicoll Highway or Hotel New World. But it is freakin old anyway. And the track is totally destroyed man... Rehearsals after rehearsals for NDP...that track is a goner for sure...

But that's off topic. This is about the elite of the army. And I think the only things they have in common with the stadium currently is that the track and the beret are both red.

Back to the CDOs...
