easier to use scenario i think. answering to the best of my knowledge.

scenario 1:

you pass 2b on 1 jan 2009, you get 13 points (not 12) that will revert to 24 in an offence-free year. you get 24 points on 1 jan 2010 (1 year)

but you commit an 12 point offence on 1 jun 2009. you have 1 point left, that will revert to 24 on 1 jun 2010 (1 year from date of offence)

if you pass 2a on 1 sep 2009, you still have 1 point left. your 2b still reverts to 24 on 1 jun 2010, and your 2a reverts to 13 on 1 jun 2010.

you will get your 24 for 2a on 1 sep 2010.

to push the scenario further, let's change the variables.

scenario 2.

you pass 2b on 1 jan 2009, you get 13 points (not 12) that will revert to 24 in an offence-free year. (you get 24 points on 1 jan 2010)

instead of a 12 point office, you commit a 6 point office on 1 jun 2009. you have 7 points left, that will revert to 24 on 1 jun 2010.

if you pass 2a on 1 sep 2009, you have 7 points left.

however, you commit another 6 point offence on 1 jan 2010. you now have 1 point left for both 2b and 2a. your 2b and 2a both revert to 24 on 1 jan 2011.

if anyone has more accurate info do reply, thanks!

Maybe this one clearer?? http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/services/driving_in_singapore/information_dips_about.htm

"A new driver's licence will be revoked if he accumulates 13 or more demerit points within a period of 12 months from the date his licence is granted."

"A motorist who maintains a 12-month free of offences with demerit points from the date of his last offence, will have all his previous points cancelled from his record. Those who maintain a 24-month period free of offences with demerit points from the date of expiry of the last suspension, will also have all previous suspensions cancelled from their records."
