Hi,

I'm looking to install either a Remus Revolution or a Scorpion carbon end can on my Fazer FZ1 (Gen1 carb model), and I'd like to get an idea of what they sound like before I decide which one to go for. I've tried checking out the clips online, but I'm not convinced.

So I have a somewhat unusual request: is there any kind soul who has either of these end cans on a Fazer 1000? I'd like to meet up and check out what it sounds like... hope someone can help!

Please PM me or reply here. Thanks!

I used to ride the FZS1000 Fazer with a Scorpion pipe.

It comes with a noise killing baffle.

If you take out the baffle (illegal, at your own risk), the sound is wonderful. :)

Also, the other benefit of the Scorpion is the weight saving.

The weight difference can be felt before and after.

ooooooooo..... that sounds tempting, but dangerous :D

What happens if you're stopped on the road by TP/ROV? Will they know your pipe has been modified, or will they just check your inspection papers and let you go?

How about annual inspection? Do you need to put the baffle back in before every inspection?

Well, if you leave the baffle in, the sound difference is not that much. The only benefit is the weight reduction and nicer outlook.

If happen to meet TP/ ROV, the fine is something like $500? The sound is much beefier with the exhaust out. Although its not THAT loud and extreme, i dont think it can go pass any TP/ ROV without them taking a 2nd look.

So...with baffle in, its fully legal. With baffle out, $500. :)

Btw, when you buy an exhaust be it new or 2nd hand, be sure to have the VICOM/ STA acknowledged certificate.

Thanks for the info! Looks like I won't be taking a chance with removing the baffles after all :p

Er...I not sure about the actual fine. :)

But I've seen the face of a guy who was caught by the TP. That look is like a $500-$750 look. haha...

Motoworld is offering me the Remus Revolution end can at a really good price - $500 for stainless steel or $600 for carbon. But they don't have the right mid-pipe for a Fazer Gen1. The guy says they will either modify an R1 mid pipe or get Seng Kwang to make a new one from scratch.

Is this advisable? What are the risks involved?
