Hey guys,

send me an ice-box and I'll see how long the darned Minnesota snow stays as snow!

Hahahahahahahah!

Anyways, you know what kind of stuff we have in our Oakleys concept shops in Singapore? Well, they have everything here and MORE!

So go online to http://www.oakley.com and check out what you want. I'll try to get some back for you guys.

Oh, by the way, I did a price comparison here and guess what? An Oakleys Ducati Juliet sunglass costs me S$675 in Singapore, but it only costs me S$455 in Minnesota! So, get your stuff while you can! Coz I won't be here for long. Maybe till early or mid March.

I'll see if I can find some bike shop so that we can get some cheap Alpinestars stuff too. Heard it was cheap here.

I'll write back as soon as I possibly can!

Hi Guys,

Was going around various dealors and looking at the XL125. Got a couple of questions:

1. Do any of you guys buy Comprehensive insurance? Or 3rd+Fire+Theft is good enough?

2. Have checked NTUC Comprehensive is about $1200 for me (31 and new rider) but the excess is only $300. Worth it for a P-plate rider? or just take 3+F+T

3. For new bikes: Have gone to BS (and quoted 10.8K w/o ins), Mah Agency (11.2K w/o ins) & Mah (11.2k w/o ins). Only BS got 3 free servicing and 1yr warrantee, the other 2 dun have anything but some freebies. Feel more inclined to go with BS, with its package and also it is shipping the 06 model. The rest all old model (05), though BS tell me there is not much change. And also BS seems to just need 1K+ins for OTR, will the rest need upwards to 2K (which includes ins). From my calculation, BS seems to offer the lowest monthly repayment and interest (4.5%, the rest 5%). I will check out GHC too, any other shops to recommend? Any advise on this issue?

Cheers

1. Mine is 3rd party fire and theft. I think it's enough.

2. It's up to you bro. Take what you think is worth it.

3. I suggest you get from BS. In any worst case scenario happen to your bike can just bring back and ask them to change.

Anyway the 06 model is not much difference (not that i know of) except for the font of the word 'VARADERO'.

Another shop you can look at is Looi's Motor at Ubi.

Can check with some of the guys who got the bike first hand here.

JIMMY...

1)I just bought my vara 1 week ago from Mah. I found out Loois and Mah as the same interest rate and its about the same price($11.2K)OTR. For BS, they qoute me slightly higher than Loois and Mah.

2)Therefore, I go for Mah,nearer my place and manage to get a free topbox.

3)Ins:3rd+Fire+Theft is good enough for what I think.

4)For servicing part, Mah only offer free labour charges for 1st 3 months.

5)Looks like buying for BS is a good deal.

Let's find the wind, mountains & the signs....

Posted

jim-my.... for your info after the 3rd free servicing, the 4th servicing is about 100 bucks (spark plugs + engine oil, oil filter and labour charge)

the warranty is only for the engine, that is total breakdown due to factory fault and not wear and tear..... and i get my bike at boon siew @ $13k whereby mah selling at $11k

the package sounds very interesting but....... what you get at the end is not.... and you neeed to make a booking for servicing ala restaurant reservation... and i paid 5%per annum interest

i bought it a couple months ago 1st hand at boon siew

Hey guys,

I've got a friend who has brand new PSP and she wants to sell it. She bought it at S$455 and is wanting to let it go at about S$420 or so. I might even be able to convince her to sell it cheaper since she doesn't need it.

I have one already so I was wondering if any of you guys were actually thinking of getting one for yourselves or as a gift.

Do let me know so that I can contact her again.

The nearest bike shop that I have heard of over here is about a couple of hours drive away from where I work or stay. So I'll prolly try to find my way around on the weekends coz I don't have a map of the place and have at least 2 days to get back to my hotel if I ever get lost. Hahahahahahha.

At the same time, since I'm not riding anymore, I have a Lazer helmet that is relatively new, used it for about 2 weeks and then got posted here. You may have to wipe the visor down a bit but that's all there is to it. Bought it at like S$450 but I'm gona let it go at about S$300. It's got a internal visor if you need it for sunny days (Black). I've already sold off my bike so I'm prolly getting a Subaru WRX when I get back from Minnesota. In the meantime, let me know if any of you guys are interested in any of those 2 items?

Stay cool guys, and ride safe.

Seraph
