hi bro thanks for ur kind concern, but most of the time I ride on the right lane, as I dont wanna lag behind slow moving cars, I am learing to squeez thro the cars in between the 1st and 2nd lane. Do u guyz feel hard to squeez in between the vehicals coz of Vara's size....? many of my friends havin small bikes say this is a disadvantage in Vara,,. some ppl mock at me, and I feel so bad. they say, Vara size only big and no speed, I wish Vara is 200cc.

any guys, anyone use Shell V-power for Vara, can the bike take it. this wont hurt the engine rite...?

Is there any other type of petrol which is same performance as V-power...?

thank u

chander_vr >

Squeezing and mocking

Bro, I get the jitters everytime I'm on the expressway with heavy traffic. As far as I'm concern, most of the time, I will be behind the cars and try to avoid sqeezing. Maybe this is due to the fact that I am a new rider. Whenever, I squeeze, I will remember a traffic poster that I saw ' WHY SQUEEZE INTO THE PATH OF DEATH' Then I will slowly go back to my lane cos , its better to be late in one piece than never in several pieces. At the end of the day, you want to see your wife and family. Even though I like to ride on lane 1 or 2 (Extreme right 2 lanes) I dun feel that Im lagging behind. If there is a vehicle behind me high beaming me or horning at me, I will just move to the left and let it pass. No prob and no issues. My friend always ask me why buy a bike when you dun sqeeze. I will just tell them riding is a passion, I treasure life, why squeeze when you dun have to.

One can never compromise on safety. I have bought alot of hi-end items (e.g gloves, armoured jackets, full face fliped up helmet etc ) just to be safe. Many ppl say ' I see you ride the bike so fiece, but just a P-plater.They laugh, they mock, SO? I thought to myself, they can say whatever they like. If I have to wear a life jacket or bundled myself with ballons and styrofoam just to keep myself safe, I will do it. Even when I am at junctions on the centre lane behind a vehicle, with both lanes left and right are clear, There is no necessity for me to change lane, why do I want to. Again, so be it. No doubt learning to sqeeze is a skill, and maybe an important one. But I feel just let time take its course and wont be too concern about squeezing. At least not now.

Why Ride a vara

2. As to y ride a vara, to me, while at 2B, its either I ride a vara or I dun ride at all. Just imagine you riding a honda wave or RXK or any other bikes. Maybe the power is better, maybe the speed is better, maybe the sqeezing is easier. I can only say one thing say. ya. Maybe. But nothing beats the style of riding a vara at Class 2B even some 2A bikes. You also mentioned about "many of my friends havin small bikes say this is a disadvantage in Vara". The keyword here is they have small bikes, maybe cos they have green eyes (jealous). Big bike , small bike, doesnt matter. What matters is riding a vara makes you look and FEEL better.

V-power

3. I'm using v-power, never tried anything else cos I just believed that my vara has to drink the best milk.

You sound really down. Dun be. You have one of the best 2b bike that is available in the market. I've bought the bike for 4 months now. I have no regrets at all. Can ask the rest of the seniors here on how they feel. It will be unanimous (Did I spell it correctly?)

chander_vr > bro, apologies, just one last story. Ever heard about the story of the old man, the young child and the mule? Here's how it goes........

There is an old man a young child taking their mule past Town A. They wasnt riding on it and someone pass a remark 'Stupid fools, they have a mule and they never make full use of it.' Upon hearing this. The old man and the young child then sat on the mule and rode to Town B.

But while they reached Town B, someone pass a remark ' Poor animal, two person sitting on it.They are so cruel'. Upon hearing this, the old man decided to just let the young child ride the mule while he walk.

As they reached Town C, someone pass a remark ' This young child is so unfillai. The old man is ageing and still has to walk such long distance while the young child is seated so comfortably'. On hearing this, the young child insisted letting the old man ride the mule while he walked to Town D.

But when they reached Town D, someone shouted, 'Old Man, you are nearing your grave and you let the poor young child walked for so far, shame on you.'

Moral of the story, whatever you do, someone is bound to say something nasty. Just do what you deem fit bro.

Sorie to nag.

Hello all, i was at dunlop st (mah parts is it) anyways.. interesting to first meeting (byteblock) with this S4 (damm looking at the S4) i feel like i need to complete my 2A!... and then he told me about his old vara125 bike, sold away.. ... then just minutes after he left the new owner of this vara125 bike came...so thast 'Keanan' huh.. ;) nice to meet you too..

anyways i had my fork seals replaced....and clutch cable replaced...

thought i share the pricing...

total cost fork seals ($90) and clutch cable ($45)... over all .. i think it was ok lah. the pricing.... didint go to Ntrust.. cos they open too late...

for those who never change the fork seals (it pretty interesting..)

so see him taking apart my fork...and then he squeezed out the OLD fork oil..

the color was milky brown... (i ask the mech... is this bad..? is it brown bec its time to change and too much water went in) he said.. *this OK lah.. still can use one.. no need to change lah...*

ahh yah.. then i felt i panicked.. over nothing..

anyways.. in the fork is a spring coil (similar to the spring in the butt of a M16)...but longer..and an extender tube.. and in it is just oil...

just thought i share.

;)

indy > my oil.. gonna change soon lah... maybe next month.. to fully syn.. i will now follow new rule... after 5km or 3 months ...then change... ;)

also i chcked with the shop... service carbs $60.. do i actually even need to do that.....hmmmm.... anyone find their bike flying after carbs sevicing?

toobez >>> bro, the forum is here for a reason...to learn and share some experiences. The handguards can fit with a bit of precision installation by some of the 'vara experts' here to our $600 handlebar. Never seen a "factory 909" handlebar before, but to me the best fit aftermarket handlebar is AT's handlebar. Although u'll need some additional brackets to fit the handlebar, it's as easy as fitting the handguards to our stock handlebar (by then u'll be a 'vara expert' already). Anyway, feel free to ask around regarding any matters on vara. No matter how busy the bros here are, we'll answer to ur questions.

Take care of the Spanish Babe, special attention needed.

The pics attached below below personally for you bro.

visual >>> Do you feel any significant difference after changing fork oil? U also mention that there is a spring coil in the fork. Any idea whether it is a standard one for most bikes? any better ones in the market?

Our bikes spec for suspension is as follows :

Suspension Front : 35mm telescopic fork, 132mm axle travel

Suspension Rear : Monoshock swingarm with adjustable spring preload, 150mm axle travel

Keanan >>> good speech bro

personally i always go to JB for petrol and cigarettes.. i find Caltex Gold97 have better mileage than V-power, and also better response on the throttle as well.. try caltex.. cheaper somemore i think..

... what r feeler gauge?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/df/FeelerGauges.jpg/200px-FeelerGauges.jpg

a feeler gauge is a simple tool used to measure thicknesses and are mostly used in engineering to measuring the clearance between two parts.it consist of a number of small lengths of steel of different thicknesses with measurements marked on each piece.

those know me, will know that i will Never change anything unless... ive come to a point where if i dont change, somehting severe gonna happen and i will have to pay more.. ;)

so difference when i change is that there is no longer the *duck squeeky sound* when ever i go over a hump...(initially when it squeaks i ust spray wd40 to the forkseal area.. it seems to stops till it rains again and then the squeaks starts....) other then that.. exactly the same.. so i t hink unless your fork seal looks like is breaking up or if too much oil is bleeding out of your seals, then i dont think there is a neeed.

i ask the *mah parts* uncle.. about our seals, he says its pretty standard seals, same as with other honda bikes.

Its our clutch cable.. thst expensive, he said s4 clutch cable is only $18... ours wah lau $45 (but given the fact that we only need to change once every 3 years.. i think ok lah...

pingster>>> the ' SIDE GAPPING ' spark plug experiment... looks good man.. i think i got a couple of used spark plug to try it...so better pickup and is there an increased top speed?

Bros,

need some advice.....

1) Sometimes, when I tried to change gear, esp from lower gear to higher gear, it seems so hard. Any idea what's the prob?

2) You guys have any prob handle lock the bike with hand guard attached?

Geez, still so much for me to learn

Al-Simmons > Hahaha. Just my two cents on squeezing cos not good at riding and scard lah.

nejihyuuga > Caltex Gold97? Hmm, think I should try. Never try before.

pingster > Interesting. :thumb:

Visual > So you found out what time Ntrust open? Never go there b4, thinking of See See Look Look and buy many many pheonix M5 litebulb keep. Hehehe

Embrace > So sorie to hear. :weep:

Anyway alot of seasoned riders tell me that flip-up helmet doesnt give much protection. Its actually same with open face helmets cos in times of accident, the catch at the for the flip up easily snap off. So even when Im wearing one, I just gotta be xtra careful.
