Pirelli Sports demon, (think Wild i) initially wanted to get this right?...

tyre looks good

http://enduronet.baboons.de/img/gallery/CAT_216/Pirelli_Sport_Demon1943451873.jpg

http://www.accwhse.com/photos/pirelli_sprt_demon_tire_rr.gif

did the bike shop recommend u this tyre?

cos the bike shop i went too.. told me to use road tyres.. advised me againts.. tourance... saying no grip..etc..

i think commonsense will will anyone that.. road/sports tyres are has better grip and good for cornering...

but i cant comment much on how the tyres will look on a vara125 till i see it..

cos i personally am using tourance.. (for rear) so far its been Good, infact [6ofitall] is also using it, and is using it for his TA400, no complaints form him too.. on the net, reviews for the tyres tourance is also good.. but with the occasional,, complain on the tyres..

to me personally, i love its 'look', for grip.. so far.. on rainy weather.. ive yet to 'skid' as compared to my 'trailwing'

anyways.. anyone is currently using [sports demon] ? any comments?

1. niti the fuel thingy saves ya petrol not drain it, check out all my previous posting, all based on my own trial dudes..

2. visual, i am maybe the only dero using pirelli sports demon size 140 other than blue dero my buddy....wats more how often we use road den trail? as a matter of fact everyday unless we live in ulu kampong ah.....hehe....!

3. pros n cons,

dual sports tires, harden faster, dats when u start to lose girp especially on wet surfaces, den the inner wall cracks u get, so safety gone there for the so called looks, unless u can afford to change ya tires every 5 months?? moreover u cant really follow the suit of class 2 bikes which use abs brakes to prevent form lockin aka skiding....or dual front piston braking where else ours only has single infront....

road tires r really meant for every day usage but buy the more expensive one cuz $$$ cant buy ya life n hospital bills is even more expensive...if u get watta i mean dude..i dun expect u to get into an accident like i did b4....to really change my life man den u will start tinking...btw its melting grip effects on surface play a great deal in bike control, not 4geting water drainage at the tire design is important.

4. daystars not really broke if going to kl, u should check out the web for ppl who live their dream riding around the world by enduros bikes man....btw they very smart got sponsor wat....heheheh!

our dreams is to one day ride a bigger cc, better handling bike, so lets head for that destination varas......enjoys n ride safely bros!

maybe it's a different kind.....for my handguard there is this metal strip which wraps around the inside of the handguard all around to the tip of your grip..

anyway what brand is yours?

Hi smicerboy

I think the handguards which can be fixed on your Vara 1k cannot fit into the Vara 125 (without compromising on handle lock) Sob sob.

mine is polisport...

if with metal strip outside handguard around it till the end....thinks it is BMW GS type..if yes...then i think its this price range.....($100):smile:but yrs is metal strip inside handguard... Did u fix it at MTECHNIK??

I think it's acerbis or acerbid....something like that...

Got different type one...the full one that goes to the grip cost bout $100 then the shorter one like what Niti is using cost lesser...but the one Niti is using cannot handlelock...Maybe if more people buy can get lesser...bought at Chong Aik at Onan Road.

Here's the info I have on air filter performance. Tests were done using SAE J726C Test Method 5-best --> 1-worst

Oiled foam (AMSOIL,UNI) Paper Oil Bath Oiled Gauze (K&N)

Large particle efficiency 5 5 5 4

Small particle efficiency 5 4 1 2

Airflow capacity 5 2 3 5

Dust holding capacity 4 2 5 2

Load up characteristic 4 1 5 1

Backfire characteristic 3 2 5 3

AIR FILTERCleanability 4 1 4 3

As you can see, K&Ns are great for airflow, which is what they were designed for. Their original application was on racing engines, where airflow is important and ultimate engine life was of little concern. They are not as good at filtering as paper or oiled foam types.

1) Al-Simmons, can you provide a pic of your hand guards? If not, do you mind telling us how can the hand guard be attached to the handle bar especially when yours has a metal bar - which is really cool.

2) The reason is because I noticed that our handle bar is already quite packed with other attachments such as the erp, brake oil container, etc? So still got space ah? Wah I really interested to fix one leh.

3) Where did you fix your hand guards?

Thanks.

hey guys i discovered that my back wheel doesnt spin as freely as azman's vara125. its quite diff to spin the back wheel when m lubing my chain. the slower spin in the backwheel will translate to overall speed degredation.

any of u guys experiencing the same problem. what could have caused the problem?

Posted

[back wheel dont spin so freely] issue... the mech that replaced my tyres said its bec.. the rear tyre (brakes) hydrolics.. is some how rubbing againts the discbrakes.. bec its alignment or something is out *etc etc etc* the rest.. of the thing he told me is to *confuse me and make me panic lah actually* in short he said... *let me 'fix' for you lah.. $30*

so i think maybe it true.. *but so far.. my bike performance is ok*

so basicly i dont really want to.. for now...[ he also mention that i need to change my engine oil to rock oil... as the oil im using 'castrol' not so good... *now.. how the heck can he know its not good or good... wiht out looking at the engine oil.. or engine.. is he phsyic? or something...

i decided... well if it aint broken... dont fix it...

to me.. when he demo to me.. rear tyre is not as free as front.. my conclusion.. [its not free as rear tyre is attached to sprokes and chain, where else front dont have] Oviously front tyre can spin so much freely lah..

and im pretty sure different sprokets & chain, produce different "freely" rotation to the rear tyres,

as long as it can spin, even though now as freely as fornt, it soudl be ok...

that my point of view lah..

;)

maybe is a lasy man point of view...
