the old one that i changed also got a few holes.

then i changed a new one without holes.

 

not quite sure abt that. he jus happily cut and said something will improve. Lol. He's a mechanic so i had to trust him.

This air filter topic has been discussed batch over batches. Can check the past hundreads pages of this thread.

 

Stock filter is still the best. Able to clear meter at 140km/h by a few of the riders here.

 

how about cutting holes in the stock fliter?

U'll end up getting a 1st century air filter when u want to take it out a few months later...

Can i ask.... How much does the Stock air filter cost? the mech i send my Toy Boy to,cut my air filter off...told me to go back to Looi to gt a new one since he doesnt have any...

 

I got a used air filter... If u wan can use it to mod to K&N.

 

Another way is to buy it online from http://www.wemotor.com.. total cost plus shipping is abt $60 sing.

if i remember correctly, u using arrowmax, thats probably why u can hit that 130. I used to be able to get 130 too, with my stock (& unmodified) air filter and arrowmax. After i stopped using arrowmax, speed dropped. My air filter's never been cleaned/changed/modified at all. so i'm thinking its just your tyres, not your air filter thats helping u get that 130. See if u still get that 130 on a different set of tyres.... maybe Sirac for example.

yo guys...i am juz sharing my experience about air filter on my previous vara125...actually i feel there is no difference whether you are using stock one or KNN filter...but KNN filter that was installed on my vara125...the previous owner mechanic had to do some modifications to install it...To my horror...oh my GOSH!!!...they use nails and cable tie to hold it onto the mould...I think some of the guys here have seen it...
