Greetings all...

just would like to offer my point of view here.

what originally started as the varadero 1000,125 thread, it has now turned itself into a melting pot for other bike makes and from all classes to interact whether on or off the line. now thatâ€™s unique. then out of passion, a few came and step forward to offer what they could for the benefit of all here. private rest house @ Sg Siput, mass orders, road trips, movie outings ,wash bikes, DIY session, decals/ stickers, t-shirts, logos design project just to name some. Kudos to those who did just that.

in that respect, with our latest ongoing project letâ€™s all be clear about some issues.please feel free to choose what you desire. there are no repercussion whatsoever.its good to have diversity. it can make this thread more lively. end of the day itâ€™s the simple joy of riding together that matters.

Sorry guys... I respect everyone decision on this issue. I will go with the majority.

What I would like to see is that Outriders go for trip together as a group...

That is more important to me... " Bonding among outriders"

IMHO, we should at least keep elements of the old logo if we are going for a new one. i think a logo represents the history of the group, so newer outriderz can trace the group's roots all the way back since the first logo was conceptualised. by having a completely new logo in 2009, new outriderz may wonder what was the group's history before 2009. im sure some of us are proud members of this group and would like to remember its history by means of the existing logo. looking at previous posts( im proud to say i read every single page..although i cant remember 90% of it), this group has ex members who were really proud being part of outriderz. im sure they would like to see their legacy continued by riders here. if there is a logo redesign, i think we should seek permission frm the 1st logo designer as a sign of respect.

about the logo itself, i hope a veteran can come forward to explain what the logo means from the font to the colours...everything.at least we know how the logo came about, its history,etch. if that is not possible, we should come to a consensus as to what it means for outriders at present. the logo may carry different meanings to different people( there's nothing wrong with that) but having common ideals in terms of the meaning of the logo would be great.

having said all that, im leaning towards at least keeping elements of the old logo, and i dont mean any disrespect. this is because i believe keeping visual elements of the history of outriders is important in building this legacy.

Brothers and Sis...thank you for you votes, comments and inputs. Nevertheless, everyone has their say and express themselves about OUTRIDERS. Honestly, from your comments and expressings, I find it healthy and riding spirit is riding strong...Keep it coming...Like I say before fret not about the new logo...From here on, paradigm can proceed with the PoloT project without waiting for the new logo...The new logo you guys wud be able to see in March...

History about the old logo....when we first started all of us were riding vara125...therefore, the main bulk of the design were taken from the headlight view...we even came up with names like aventura jinette..which means adventure riders...OUTRIDERS name came along as I was serving my NS that time as MP Outrider...so suggested and it seems most of the brothers here agreed to OUTRIDERS...which means mounted attendants or riders who clear or pave the way...the flames were added to make the logo look more garang plus it symbolize our fiesty riding spirit....bascially thats how the name and the logo came about...if the old guards remembered those days...the meet-ups at East Coast, Mak's Place, KTM, Simpang Bedok...lots of ideas, discussions, plans, activities...

The tittle Chairman or known as Co-ordinator as present...it is better to be on rotation basis so that...new inputs or energy or directions can be injected into the group...plus to make us understand being a co-ordinator is no easy task..and also to act as focal point for any meet-ups or trips...not forgetting our beloved treasurer who is still IswadyIdris...heheheh...

So basically that's how the logo came about plus the history creating the Chairman position...

Last Saturday I change my Vara 125 air filter after about 2 years ++ riding this bike, which I never took out the petrol tank before....

[/color]Hey guys i know this is really random n plus ive M.I.A for so long haha but i think we should change the name of the page. i mean like instead of "Varadero 125" we should just call it "Outriders" or something like tt haha. just a random thought. As for the T-shirts im cool with wadever as long the back colour is black as for the logo wadever the masses choose im in. so please do consider me as one of those who is ordering the t-shirt when the time comes. and lastly id just like to say i agree with aboang sufi/Aikon, we have grown into some what of a diverse riding/touring group. i remember the times wen most of us were still riding our vara 125s and only the "pioneers" as i like to call them had the big bikes haha. but i too feel its not bout wad bike u ride or wad so ever, its the joy and passion of the rides and stuff we do together. ive been busy with work n all so havent been meeting up as much but i nvr forget the fun times ive had soo ill be back n riding with the pack once more.

Dear All Bros & Sis,

This post is to follow up yester-night's meetup.

I had presented on (1) proposed t-shirt project and (2) Bro Daniyal's proposed new design for the logo for our T-shirt purpose. I have also explained on Bro Daniyal's behalf the objective of the new design and how it will reflect a more dynamic group of bikers and our spirit of adventure. Estimated costings for both (1) and (2) above also have been related.

There were mixed responses and some who prefer not to respond yet. As suggested by some I am posting here to officially get your replies.

Please decide now and do not sit on the fence so that we can progress forwards. Lets impose a reasonable deadline for all to reply by 22 Feb 2008 Sunday 2359hrs.

PS: I prefer the old OutRiders logo simply cos tat's what the group started out with. A bunch of Vara 125 riders who wanted to stick together, ride together and make new frens - especially with other Vara 125 riders. That group has become what it is today. Although most of the old birds (if i may call u guys tat...) have upgraded to bigger cc bikes...the reason they still stick together and are so active in the group is cos of the fact they ALL started out riding a Vara 125. they are still interested in meeting new Vara 125 riders and passing on the experience and advice to them.

In that very essence the old logo was/is designed to protray the image of the Vara 125 (i.e the headlight shape). This is afterall the Vara 125 thread, and in my opinion thats the way it should be continued on for future Vara 125 riders and the like.

Having said that, I would like to support Daniyal in one aspect of his idea - to include a slogan in our logo design.
I think that is a very good idea and I particularly like the 1st one. And some others i thought of.

"Adventure Touring Starts Here"

"Cover the Miles in Style"

"Ride with Pride"

Afterall the Vara 125 is a very capable touring machine - if the rider is up to it!

After reading all the above, I just wanted to comment as follows:-

1) This thread is labelled "Varadero 125" started by Varadero1984, then riding a vara 125, now a Phantom (he last told me). The thread's objective is a place for current, ex and future vara125 owners to unite.

2) There are 2 common points amongst all in this thread is: (1) they love(d) the varadero bike and/or (2) they love the company / riding together

3) This discussion about the old logo and new logo - based on input from Bro Naz and Bro Aikon (thanks bros!), the spirit of outriders is represented by the way no discrimination is shown as to what CC bike the riders are on but more geared towards riding together.

4) There is an obvious gap between actual vara 125 riders and the vara pioneers/ex-vara riders/outriders. This gap should be addressed and if possible bridged. Perhaps we can have a BBQ nite etc where we can ALL meet up, bond and keep the passion alive and kicking. Just an idea..

5) Lastly, whilst we strive to stay current (inferring from Bro Aikon & Naz's comment on the many diff makes of bikes in the group) we should equally strive to reflect on the history which makes up the group (Bro Mus's point) so as to ensure continuity and renewal of members which comprise the group and a stable group identity. If this is not done, it will inevitably result in either a loss of identity or uncontrolled metamorphosis (Bro Scott's point on an Outrider's thread...)

Thanks for the info, my is a brand new Vara and I do have hard time to take out the petrol tank but I did get it out and I believe mechanics had problem taking out the tank.. which is why they put nails & cable to hold.

My AT is slowly recovering from what the previous owner have done nothing to take care of it...

So it's slowly coming to life.so far it get's better everyday.
