Faded LCD is a common issue with this bike - not a serious issue and cheap to fix. Superficial rust on the exhaust system underneath the bike is also a common problem, especially with Varas on the road now being pretty old. But overall the reliability of the bike is fantastic, if it has been regularly serviced some people here have done 100k km and the engine is still in great shape.

 

Regarding the 6k, you don't offer enough info - it depends on when COE expires and what model year the bike is. For example 6k is cheap for a 2009+ bike, but very expensive for a 2003/2004 bike with COE about to expire. I wouldn't worry much about accessories.

4k is a very good price if there are no problems with the bike. How many KM done already?

Be patient, better offers will come up, it's just not a very common bike where there are always some on the market.

 

To put it into perspective, I have a 2002 Vara with 82k km, COE renewed until 2022, Givi screen, Africa Twin handlebars, Acerbis handguards, Bagster tank bra, Givi rack and top box. new pirelli scorpion tires, chain and sprocket changed earlier this year, engine in great condition, all the bike needs is a good wash. I would let go at 5k, but I'm not selling at the moment, going for class 2 in october.

 

6k+ is enough to get you a later model Vara, (2007+), one sold here earlier this year. 4-5k should get you the older model with fresh COE, good condition and lots of accessories, again based on previous sales.
