if u saw more tell me i got two eager buyers n no prob wif parallel import crap cuz boon siew oso very sucky service n they oso sell to local bike shop to earn money cuz how to survive price so ex compared to normal shop

Pingster, after adjusting my rpm to 1.5K, I had no problem starting up in the morning, even without the choke. I realise the i have to crank the ignition for about 2-3 sec to ensure 100% start.

So....so far so good.

I think i have to bring bike back to BS to check the rear wheel and brakes. Each morning, as i roll the bike, i can hear "erhhh erhhh" sound. Sound likes the brake pads sticking to the brake disk. After stepping on the rear brake, the sound goes away. But comes back again once in a while.

Anyone have a better answer or any clue to this sound ??

as for ur rear brake, think might be the brake pad not "seasoned" yet or is tooo tight. no harm letting BS to check for u, anyway is free

Went to BS just now, this guy Andrew say it is "NORMAL" because brake pad is always in touch with the disk. So this rubbing sound is there. I dont believe but cannot do anything because of Murphy's law. When I show him, there is no sound

Anyway, i have run in 650km and is due for first service soon. Will complaint again.

i was at 'Cash Converters' the one in Jurong East.. im suprised to find 2 top box for sale..

one of them is a KAPPA (box ) $18 (with accessories) it look ok

the other is GIVI MAXIMA ($25) with accessories..

the maxima one is good for touring (when u need space for your stuff & stuff u buy..etc... ) could be useful for dakar.. since his box is so small ...

 

 

other thing i saw was a 'Car Jack' going for $5!

but..i already bought the car jack.. and by placing it at the rear (bar (thats joints to the rear tyres) u can jack i up a little(just nice to rotate the rear tyres for chain lube & chain cleaning...)

since BS cant do anything, why not try Ah Yew at GHC Serangoon or Ah Wah at GHC Yishun.....Both are pretty good mechanics that I tried. Another one, the rest of the bros have "tried" is Paul at Paya Ubi.........

 

If there is really something faulty found, dont do anything refer back to BS or you can get the mech to solve problem on the spot.

 

As for trip to M'sia, there are plans I believe; short trip to Desaru and Malacca sound interesting..... :thumb:

the last time we went to malacca... didint really get to explore the town..(i didint get to see AFAMOSA!) maybe a short trip to M might be a good idea....(altho the distance to M... is pretty far..) ehh how about Kota Tinggi (heard there are some water falls there) hope its still there and hope it look ok and does not suck.. (desaru.. sounds good too.. ive never been to there.. too)

Chow>> Yup thats me , the jacket is made of cordura (against abrasion) and its water proof , so it equates to HOT armoured in the elbows,shoulders. but if u r using in the night , its actually not bad. Also if in the sun , still okay for the speed I am travelling ,i will still feel the heat but better than stationary or in sg use.

The jacket brand is HELD , but I guess the fellow who brings it in not doing it anymore. There's other brand u can look into , with cash to blow : Dainese ,Clover: is decently priced against quailty, motorworld do have some brand ,u need to go check out cos its been a while I went there. Also Ah boy got some brand, arjay ,alpinestars, nankai...

just happen to read this thread and wana give my fair share of input. If your caliper is a floating caliper, the slight drag will always be there. It's ok as long as the wheel still turns freely. How to find out whether yours is a floating caliper? try to push and pull your caliper towards and away from your wheel. basically as long as the wheel doesn't stop turning immediately or almost immediately when u turn it, it's normal.

aikon, its worth buyin cuz 17kn is so fresh hardly used mines bought at 22000km but now its oredi 38000km within 8 mth n haven really go dat far yet except theprevious owner rode it to kota tinggi she said dat time...hehehe!

 

 

visual tell dakar for me i always wanna go to desaru by bike, who else wanna go we juz plan to ride.....eat...pump...ride....see...n maybe shop....take alot of photo one oso best in the world man...

Btw for ur oil change, mineral is cheap, but it don't last . As its not added with additives , I would change to semi-syn if I were u. Syn would be a waste of good dollars on Vtwin engines. My 1 cent worth.
