First you need to figure out if the forks themselves were bent in the drop. Most likely not, but the correct way to check them is to remove them and roll them on a big glass table to see if they're perfectly straight.

If you don't know how to remove the forks, then get a straight edge or if you don't want to buy that, a steel ruler and just put it against the forks to see if they're straight.

If everything checks ok, loosen the upper fork clamps (prob 12mm) and lower fork clamps (12 or 14mm). Have a friend stand in front of the bike and grip the tyre between his knees. You sit on the bike and use the handlebars to straighten everything up. Then tighten back the clamp bolts.

And I suggest you go find another shop. Most places would do this for free (the readjustment, not straightening of forks).

Yes. Go to a proper shop, check the shop reviews on the forum, a couple of good ones around, might as well make them your regular mechanic. Planet, Sin Boon, Sporting Motors, etc. pick one that fits your budget. If they know you they'll probably do it for free. If they don't, they might charge a minimal fee.

Also, make sure they loosen the fork clamps first. Some lazy mechanics will just ask you to hold the handlebars while they kick the tyres to striaghten the alignment. This will scratch the fork tubes.
