Can a ktm be used for everyday transport bike?

I intend to get either a 450smr or 400exc.

 

But some of my friends are advising me that I can't use these bikes as everyday transport.

 

Please advice.

Sure you can use the 450 or 400 as daily transport. But bear in mind that "race-ready" and "economical/durable" are mutually exclusive.

Got $ for regular servicing as how much per month? I dun mind 100-200 as i m working. Mayb $300 if i need to change here n thr.

its best to get ktm2 motard with Keihin PWM carb and 13/42 or 14/42 sprocket size. Then KTM2 is safe to use for transport. :-)

i have ridden 400 exc for transport for 6 months until i gave her up. Bike have unusual petrol consumption. its not fixed. sometimes 15km/l and times 22 km/l. And everytime i go anywhere, must surely go fill petrol first even tho its very near. The power is awesome tho. the bike feels as if it will just wheelie at every traffic light

So its better nt to get ktm 4 transport? I guess ther's nt much choice left 4 2b scrams. Mayb husky 125sm.
