I had just gotten my class 2B not long, I think it is good for the government to implement 3 classes for bike license actually. If I am given a class 2 bike to ride now, e.g. R1, Haya... I doubt myself and some other riders out there can handle the power from these bikes.

When I passed my class 3 license 4 yrs ago, with a P plate I drove 1.5L, 2.0L, 2.4L and light truck. I can say than the difference between the cars is very minimal comparing to a class 2B and class 2 bike.

As 'Silent Hunter' had said, the government had already classified the heavier vehicles into class 4 and 5. There isn't really any point to further break down the class 3 licenses

when i drive i see bad riders.....

when i ride i see bad drivers.....

Hahaha! well said.

There's some folks who justify driving cars (and supercars) by their comparative safety for the (possibly inexperienced) driver, without consideration of their comparative safety to other road users like pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. I should think that traffic regulations should be a bit more broad minded than that.

Trouble is that the stats as reported by the Traffic Police, don't indicate the cause of accident/fatalities. Eg. They highlight the number of fatalities by road user group, but they don't differentiate how many of those were caused by say motorcyclists or motorcars. What they've chosen to say is that riding is dangerous, as is pillioning. This gives the impression that motorcyclists are a more dangerous group of road user - which may or may not be true. Just look at the number of pedestrians killed in 2006. That's more than double the number of car drivers killed. Do we then put in place a multi-tier pedestrian walking licence? Do pedestrians trip and kill themselves? Perhaps if they highlighted instead that so and so number of accidents/fatalities were caused by say motorcars, AND this turned out to be higher than fatalities caused by motorcyclists, then they would be forced to address quite a different issue, and the public might have a better understanding of the real cause of accidents/fatalities.
