all i Know was... after reaching bkt KAYU HITAM... some wana go hm... and some going to stay another nite but its either Pinang/ipoh or KL i think. SO we split up as those wanted to go home its just thinking of HOME and as not to waste time. But those still haven't make up their mind on where to stay for another nite, left behind to decide.

 

Along the way, during one of the stop at pagoh... saw MAT BOTOX coming up to us from nowhere asking if we wana join him and Ed for coffee. its a cold ride and all we wanted to do was get back hm asap in 1 piece. After all, the stop before at seremban, we had a light snak + coffee already. Most of the time we stop was just pump, ciggy ride..pump, ciggy ride. And yes we did watch up for each other..Fuji lead..while i was behind with zack,yan and Wan in between. reach gp around almost 5 am and gt news david and jason wif partners hm safe. Somehow, i ask myself.. How come they Change their mind to go home instead..and HOW THE HELL IT CAME DOWN IN 3 GROUP instead of 2? obviously everyone know 1st group gg HM. but why can't we just RE-GROUP. i would had agree to RE-GROUP if the decisions made by those planning to stay another nite (then change of mind) to go home wif us. we can all met up and ride home.

 

To some..in this far far away further up north ride.. i am a newbie. i only tour around JB and face so much hindrance hare and there before too. And i dun see any much different riding elsewhere as all it takes was extra caution and never be complacent with safety at all time. but i believe if all voice out, it could be a better community. those who can't take it...are actually the weakest link!!! maybe...worse or known as "HANTU".

 

My point of view... no one was in a RUSH to go home...And No one really wanted to break the group into 2 but some how ended up in 3 group.. FROM group 1:going home(FUJI,ZACK,YAN,BOG DADDY and myself) Group 2:going for another night(Hassan,Jason,Don and Atwin) Break until Group 1 (still same) Group 2 (Jason and ATwin) Group 3 (Don and Hassan) and in the end all going home. Imagine, 10riders... ended up in 5 group wif some solo riders. thinking back.. yes its not easy to keep the group together and one can't keep all happy. but i got this hunch.. other group are far much worse than US. just glad we all did fine with minor hiccups here and there.

 

SO Blame urself as u did ur own judgement. and yes..i did mine.. and i'm sorry if i offended anyone in anyway. after all.. i noe i ride a crappy bike buts its a WORKHORSE. In any cases it break down, wif many expertise and brudders who understands, all it takes to troubleshoot d problem was less than 30 min. just dun let it be urs. i had my share and experience.

 

Bottom line, Evryone had their Pros and Cons.. all of US. so before u blame others.. blame urself and ask WHY i did this.. WHY i Did that..WHy didn't i do this... didn't i do that. i am pretty much sure there is much more to blame urself than others. and i believe, its all in the communication. IF u had Anticipated anything could had happen, Shout it loud if voicing out is not behind heard.

 

so much so, i agree wif ZACK... we met up and talk. meantime, JASON... did u mention KOH SAMUI? idea ah... for my solo trip.....

fyi: Got back wif such bad news...when i woke up, got a call, grandad passed away. and i was glad i got back in time even if i have to leave the group and ride solo. tot of joining the group for another nite in KL or wherever but seems like the so call "RUSH" thingy.. is a CALLING for me.... u never noe... u never noe..

 

 

 

Yo Joe...sounds deep man....congrats on your maiden trip.It's just a misunderstanding from what i read...the 1st time is always not perfect..even on the 2nd and 3rd...go kopi,talk and discuss about it,and all will be a happy family again.It's different from boy girl relationship.If like this,sure break-up.

We dun need kopi session or watsoever, All is well as far as I'm concern, If U r new, Safety & Gd Riding Habit are my main concern!!!

 

We are Riders, Fun Riders Fun people, jus at time not Fully Grown up yet or Being Adult (those in e family will know)... Anyway FYI the reason for me wanting All Hatyaian's to be on xtra careful while riding back were, as aware, we're on tight budget and the insurance coverage were only till 12/4/09 @ 2359hrs. So lets all be thankful we reached SGP in 1 peace. There were 2 Riders(Casualties) Down & Gone while riding up to Hatyai and Phuket as we were informed....by fellow riders.

 

Don, I personally dun believe that the intention for a kopi session is for settling issues out. We all did something great together... If nid be that a 'trashing out' session was to happen during the kopi session, AS ADULTS, we will and must reciprocate the respect of other's views; be it novice tourer or experienced tourer... it is something to share & express one's experience but it's also a positive thing to consider the goodness about knowledge sharing; ie: getting feedback from unexperienced tourers.. You always emphasize that as rider, WE are still learning.. the kopi session has always been a time where all the brudders bond... i will consider that not the kopi session as a negative thing...

 

 

ADVISE- In future ride, my suggestion is all riders to have an xtra off day, As a back up/standby rest day in any emergency case. Dun come along if u have to rush back, or make ur own arrangement to Leave( on ur own or Follow those leaving early) if u have to... Bring Ur own map in-case U need to travel back alone.

 

In a NUTSHELL- As One of the 2 ( Me and David ) we shall not compare to the Last One ( 4Yrs Back 2005 ).... But this has got to be the best ECA we had:puke:...... I'm sure we will look back 4 yrs later in 2013.... and have a blast about tis... by that time I hope All have Grown Older and Wiser, remember....

Somethimes, if u had travel around the world alone or in groups, doesn't mean u noe and master everything and can start to preach about it. u might end up 8ITCHIN about it. remember the skys is the limit for some, and not all people share the same objective and point of views.

 

if TREX would had agree wif u on this.. then we all should had a KOPI talk session. sometimes... a talk face to face wif those involve would made a better interaction rather than PM here and there. Ticking to a certain extend is normal for a V twin of this capacity....Very often its masked by aftermarket pipes but in a stock environment, its pretty normal. Just make sure its clean most imptly. It shows the owner cares and whats more impt than that care value???? If you cant even wash your bike once a week, then what kind of an owner are you???

 

Look out for a clean and neat looking bike bro. and its a bonus if there is a service history. Also if it has exceeded 80,000 km on the clock, then ask when the last full cycle service or valve clearnce and tensioners and timing chain has been replaced.

 

Otherwise, just remember, that you are buying a second hand bike. **** happens but its gonna be good if you meet us before any commitments.

I am one of the 5, however I beg to differ, enuff is enuff guys. Who wrong who right, who farking cares? You all write so much got trophy to earn ah?

 

Please concentrate your energies on things more impt in life, like work and family and your businesses. We are all learning.

 

Eddie had his points and so does yan and joe, in fact ALL who went for the trip, but let whats done be done guys. We learnt more about each other guys and next time we do this again, we will know where we lack this time round and we improve on it...its that simple.

 

We are all supposed to laugh it off and enjoy the post trip guys. Think of all the good memories and the clubbing and the waterfalls. It was so nice and i wouldnt have done it without my bros or i wouldnt be having that much fun if i went with family perhaps. Think of eddies and phillip syncronise swimming. Think of eddie drifting away cos of the current, Think of Joemacs wobbly belly, think of the fun at Kiss, think of the fun at paragon. Think of the scenery at the hilltop, think of the good sleep we had on night one. Think of all the good ppl.

 

There is no end if we continue. Come on guys, lets drop it and get back to life. Work hard and play harder and ride hardest.

 

I am one of the 5, but i got no issues bros, i just take it as a learning process of getting to know my bros better. Everyone is diff and everyone has diff needs and expectations bros. The more we accept each others mindset, the more we prepare for success on the next ride. This is not going anywhere and for sure a waste of valuable time, which is Money.

 

Lets smile and move on now.

i remember my last trip up north thai with david and eddie, they taught me to check my engine oil before the ride starts for the day.

 

i think this is good idea. it is like army BOS which means Before Operational Servicing. check oil level, check water coolant, oil your chain, etc.

 

so in future, before our ride, we wake up earlier to check our bike first.

 

travelling for 800-900km in a day sure to burn off some engine oil..
