yo bros, issit true dat all vara1k is fuel injection? i ever heard dat da earlier models r using carb but when i look up at www.motorbikes.be, all vara1k use fuel injection. its using a tuned down engine from honda VTR 1000 F firestorm 2000 model. below r some details of da vara1k 2000 model.

yup..there are carbs around. mine is a 1999 carb model. din know the fuel injection come out so early in 2000 though...

My Varadero 99 model speedo lights are super dim and has always been dim.

I've tried changin bulbs, used super brite LEDs but it all doesn't seem to work. Anyone facing this problem?

Bro,

 

1) do you have problems cranking your bike, esp in the morning?

2) do you have to rev your throttle to ensure your bike don't 'choke' when try to warm up ur bike?

 

this could be due to lack of charging from your coils to your lights...

 

Just wondering if your have a voltmeter. if you do, try & check your meter level before lights on; ie: should be around 14-15 range..

once your engine is ready to move; on your headlites & your range should just fluctuate to 12.5 - 13.5. but as you ride further, the range should maintain bet 14 - 15 range agn..

 

happened to me before my coils died prematurely; replacement cost around $160- $190. better to check wif ur mech if power flow is good & even for your ride.. or worse still, if like me; ol' mech changed my battery to inferior kind so charging of power was really poor...

I remembered one of the guys changed the coil recently. May I know what caused it and the symptoms of the problems. My bike currently is having some charging problems. Battery will not charge if it was riding below 3k rpm. When i'm stuck in bad traffic and in slow speed, it will have some problem starting later. I've just changed a new rectifier and battery last month.

i think my ST11 had dat kind of problem. its da coil. but st11 coil is damn ex! bout 300 plus. but if refurbish only bout 100 plus.

AWESOME food!!! The proof?? There were no leftovers. But our table nvr get the 4 of a kind veg leh. Only 1 kind kangkong. Hehehe... But that is already SEDAP = delicious enuf.

 

Let me know if u guys gonna attack that plc again. I will nvr have any qualms of returning there. Many thz to Stantheman for introducing us this sweet secret plc and also for leading me n zazin76 back to 1st Link. The only suck thing is the jam at customs. your problem seems like what Vara,me & myself face. Change new battery & rectifier, the problem still come back again. Maybe it could be the startor coil going to give way.

Maybe u can refer to your service manual, how to check for the failure of startor coil. what is ur mileage... some pple change after abt 60,00km ride other 100,000km ride..

Haha...When i got is bike, the speedo meter usually have this problem. Just change to led light & solve your problem..I got it done by one of the sg bike forum., after seeing it maybe u can also DIY yourself. Just make sure have the correct type of LED with correct resistor for that. Maybe u shld check again ur LED light that u r using...if i'm not wrong, i think your led light is the focus type that does not project light widely.
