Zac,

What i meant as taken back is not intended to ur comments but it means dat the highlights u brought up made me think how big the size of the problem could have come to... Totally different meaning...

i am laughing it off but if the scenario is the opposite, i would just understand how you might have felt; guilty abt the whole fiasco and thinking what should be done or not?.. i wud understand how the brudder feel and not just burst everything out in the open.. I oredi say I low on morale... Can' u understand what i driving at?

u mention abt negligence? u unstd my bike just finis a major repair, wud u, in my place, take the risk to chiong ur bike knowing u havent fully tested it out? the speed up had to be done at a gradual pace as advised by a fellow rider. the issues did not just happen from the start of the journey but much later wen i have been riding in good speed... it happen too sudden and my mistake i did not react faster.. very expensive lesson.. in terms of time..

and lastly, the ladies part? isit really necessary to bring it up in such manner? compared to us both, Mrs Atwin have went up way north to thailand as pillon..during the bike-down, respect to her cuz she had some kind words for me which made my mind at ease for a moment.. to the rest; ur rescue and waiting company was truly highly appreciated.... Apologies for all u went tru due to me..

to those experience riders and not-so; ur company is always a blessing.. i hope we can take Eddie's kind words that we should all learn to 'gel' as a team... Hope my explanation clears that i do not harbour any ill-feelins towards anyone; esp Zac as i appreciate all the VARA brudders equally!!

varadero8212>> Personally i think yancurly is not the one to be blame off.

1stly, he just overhaul his bike & presume that his bike was in tip top condition before the trip. Just because, his trusted mechancis made a silly mistakes by forgoting to turn on one of the fuel **** & caused this big mess. Nobody would have thot that it was the fuel **** problem. (i would also never check the fuel **** on/off valve when i get my bike after servicing, we all presume that it was on all the time). Maybe it is a good lesson to check the fuel **** is on at all times,

2ndly,i must admit that our marker, has left earlier without realising that phillip, chrislayer & yanurly was still far behind.

3rdly, i think some of the brudder 1st time riding to malacca & that why not very familar with the road especially there is no marker on the road shoulder at that moment. He is making the correct turn towards malacca and found out that no one at the side & he could have been thot that it could be another next exit to malacca.

4thly, after some minor incident happen earlier on, i think he won't dare to stress up the bike (just need to confirm whether is the fuel **** problem).

5thly, Pls don't blame each other fault for delaying the trip. All we want is to enjoy ourself & have a good ride. I must admit that riding in big group is not an easy task, especially we need to tolerate each other riding behaviour, style , bike delaying, slow rider etc. For every vehicle break down out of singapore, we must treat it as a challenging & a learning experience.

Lastly, i think we should have organise more ride together in order to become more organise (from what i see, this round we are quite organise) Maybe as what i suggest riding in pair system will be better , easier to keep a watch out in each other. Unless u guys want to ride in convoy system.

Yancurly8>> Coffee on me.....Can we end this & just wait for my video editing to be completed. Hopefully , can finish this week as i have been learning to use the video editing function. OOPS 2.30am now, got to sleep already.

LC KC> Bro, I guess we really have to start ur lesson....to stop all the adventure.....

Rest> Lets set a permanent ROR(Rules of the Road) for any ride up....so as to eliminate any known time wasting adventure....A pre-check should be done before any ride...Riding in a Big Group we should know our destination, rest point and go in group of 3-4...jus like Bemban Pitstop Gang :faint: ...and the standard Hand Signal in any emergency case....

Atwin> Bro,dun worry it's a healthy discussion...btw Agree with u need more group touring and riding...however not with the pairing system...convoy yes..small group of 3-4 riders...dun worry bout these buggers..they're ADULT.Rmbr how the Tsunami ride??? someone hit e kerb upon exit of H'way :faint: :cheeky: ..these things are fun and adventurous..but can get to ur nerve when happen at the wrong time... OK my work are done for now...Hopefully Lesson Learnt.. YES GUYS...as Atwin said it... Let's end this...Here!!!

Everything has been said before, but since nobody listens we have to keep going back and begin all over again.

I'll invest on e reflective Stripes....Bright Red for the Lead and Marker/Sweeper Flourescent Yellow... How? Can? :faint:

Guys , no one to be blame for anything. Part n parcel and the fun of riding together is all about helping out each other, the wait, the process.

The Adventure of VARA was put in becos of that (also to form the word to make it VARA :cheeky:) , if it all goes smoothly , what adventure?

Adventure part is to help each other should things happened unexpectly. Then the test of the team's bond comes in place. Sure we will biaatch about it, but after a good laugh we are good to ride again.

I agreed that big convoy is difficult to ride with, needs lots of patience as well. But the end , its the fun part to be able to reach the destination as a big group

Atwin is spot on on his 5th point. Thats the sprite of riding together.

Hi There,

need advice from Varadero pilots;

Which bike is better in heavy traffic jams Varadero or ST11 (minus boxes)?. I'm pretty tall and heavy so not scared of weight so much but can't decide which to bike to get.

Thanks for advice...

Vara(minus the panniers) have no problems in heavy traffic jams cos the handlebars and mirrors are much higher...so can squeeze easily

I second that. Plus the vara was designed without panniers so it still looks good without panniers. However, I'd say an ST11 without its panniers, would look pretty odd.

Brudder Yan, I am not blaming anyone and definitely not you in particular. Dun get me wrong k bro? All i meant was, and this is for EVERYONE, if you notice the slightest of glitches or something funny, STOP and flag the one nearest to you. Dun wait until mati.

Imagine if grave damage would have been done by then, i am sure you dun wanna pay another $2400 on the bike. You know what i mean. Or even worst case scenario you lose control of the bike and go down.. That will be really bad.

I am not blaming anyone, not yan curly. This is again another lesson. I am not blaming him that he re-entered the expressway after exiting at ayer keroh also. The marker wasnt there. I know. Even i might have over shot if the marker wasnt there.

LESSONS PPL LESSONS.

WE ALL LEARN AND IMPROVE.

Maybe i rephrase better lah. FOR ALL >>>>> IT WILL BE NICE TO JUST DO A QUICK RUN ON THE LOCAL EXPRESSWAYS AFTER ANY WORK ON YOUR BIKE TO ENSURE IT'S ALL GOOD. AND WHERE CARBURATORS ARE WORKED ON, THEN A GOOD RUN IS MANDATORY. COULD BE A GP PETROL RUN, WITH SOME BRUDDERS TAGGING ALONG THAT IS.

Hi Bro, I personally own both bikes b4 and have been travelling from marsiling to to suntec(now tanjung pagar) for the pass 3 years.. Imagine the jam at PIE and Nicole highway in the morning.

Personally, i prefer varadero as the handle bars are higher den most car mirrors. Though the vara is big, its more agile den the ST in jams. Minus points, have to ballet ard in the traffice... sometimes miscue abit u see the driver beside u dropping their jaws with eyes popping out.

For ST11, You get more balance for the lower seating position. You no need to take out the panniers for the ST11. As long as you dun hit your side mirrors while overtaking, your can panniers will be safe. Minus points, feels more bulky den the varadero

Hi Stan,

Thanks for the advice. I leaning to the Dero, but my experience with the africa twin was that its difficult to balance the bike at low speed, a must for the traffic ballet.

When I was riding the Busa, I could balance the bike at full stop for a few seconds without problems with the twin its possible too but I find that I have to flap the bars about quite a bit making it a bit tiring (and not very distinguished looking)

Tink the balancing part play alot on the riders seating posture and the placement or height of the handle bar. For sports bikes, the handle bar is low and the rider leans alightly forward applying pressure on bar. thats why you no need to flap the bar around... :cheeky: thats how i feel..

Try and remember the technic to cross narrow plank in school. Believe me, it works...

I like to sit toward the front, so maybe you have some thing there. I never had problems with the plank, although I was never so good at the fig8 (a bit too stiff).

Thanks and see you on the road..

PS: what is the fuel consumption for you beastoid?
