lol wat a question:) basically both are good adventurer tourer bikes. The better bike would be the one u feel comfy and attached with. Both are reliable and performance about the same. Vara heavier but bigger fuel tank. Go read up on advrider.com, vara Intl or stromtrooper forums or GOOGLE to learn more abt them :)

 

U wont go wrong with either :)

oh okie , vara carb averages abt 320km before hits reserve, tank 25 litres inclusive 4 litres reserve if not mistaken

 

for strom , try ask the strom thread . they be able to tell u more

mine can reach 350km till reserve lite on for carb model......average fuel consumption for this bike is 16-18km/l and also depend how the rider ride.:angel: EFI model should be better...

Firstly, it is indeed very promising to know that a fellow potential owner has expressed great interest towards two fine, beautiful machines... HOWEVER, it would be more welcoming to know why you chose these 2 machines? There are many more tourers around to suit different rider preferences, etc... Happy hunting !!!

 

btw, NEXT TIME SAY HI FIRST LAR !!! khe khe... den can send you invitation to view the machines first hand.. ask ask ask... eat petrol lar.. dis lar.. dat lar.. Come down and see to believe...

 

u tell me wic class 2 bike never drink petrol like coke or otherwise? u intro me a sumo-size person who eats only one plateful of food each day & manage to retain the size?... big size, big stomach lar.. unless if the person small but have bottomless pit different story lar... anyway, VALLALERO is a PAH-ver bike by itself but the people who ever rode it currently or before makes riding it more meaningful.... :cheers:

sorry if i seemed rude but this is my first time finding for a touring bike as i have been using sportbike all the way.. Am planning to change my k8 1000 to a tour bike.. Did a trip to Phuket last year.. Backside blister.. neck pain.. back pain also.. So i am planning to go more tours.. so that is why i am asking experts like all of you who have been using the bike rather than read specs which can be not accurate.

No worries bro.. sorry if i had offend you in any way oso.. i emphatize how you feel as i do have some sportster biker frenz who say the same ting.. we are not experts but as you say, sharing experience is the best way to know things as it is..

 

All of us learn something new about riding each day, irregardless of wat rides ur on.. the most beautiful thing is wen you 'gel' with that machine as one.. Mcm like AVATAR lar, the alien 'ponytail' link to the animal they ride (Shame on those havent watch AVATAR; nice movie btw) :cheers:... the nearest equivalent is a brudder riding his bike with a Garmin GPS link to his bike so dat he wont get lost and plot his good journeys !! *LOL*

 

 

come down to our meet up dis fri if you can.. although known as riders in Varadero thread, we do have former Varadero-owner brudders who currently ride a Vstrom oso.. he can give you more details you need in your beautiful journey of owning a sport-tourer one day.. PM to either Chrislayer or ASAP...

To each of his own, brudder... to me , Vara is still one of top best TOURER of its class. It will give u anything on and off road. But must have balls lah. The OIL factor is part of it so dun complaint if u really digg abt the machine itself.. Like what yancurly said is thru... "Which Big Bike never drink patrol?"

 

nway, its good that u ask in the right place right forum. and yes, VARA is a heavy Bike and Drink patrol. BUT BUT BUT the grass is always greener and the SUN is so much brighter on the other side. Comfy, Moderately Cheap maintenance, Parts easily available, Bulletproof, (both bike and vara kakis are) Reliable.. and boy... 120 to clear throttle... i can tell u bro.. NO SWEAT.. u might pee in ur touring pants.. most to most 200...and i am just talking abt CARB model.. just put a side the EFI..

 

Oklah.. i speak much oso no use...so, the way i will just analyse it.. the WEIGHT & the Patrol issue, are well compensate with the Torque, robust and never ending excitement that money can't buy.. But again, if MONEY can buy...cut this post short n get a beemer..

 

yet i noe people bought it so just to say "i ride this b4.... i ride that b4"...VARA heavy and drink patrol this and that.. but they still BUY it.. and then COMPLAINT... haiz...

 

My advise... irregarless V Strom / VARA.. there is pro and ons.. But its all down to what u want..and what the bike can offer..seondary is the mates the share the same passion and appreciate BRUDDERHOOD:thumb::thumb:... just my 2 cents..
