Think my maxsym clutch slipped already..have been experiencing "biting point" issues for the past week..

 

Anyone else have the same problem?

My maxsym is 10800k mileage now

Nice that's the way to go. Ours are just plain bulky and ugly. What's more we have to insert a value card for it to work.

 

By the way how much is Maxsym in Portugal?

 

It's around 5200 Euros (aprox. 6500 us dollars).

think its about time to service and clean your transmission especially the clutch/pads.. at the same time can check your belt, rollers as well as manual says 15K then replace belt etc. It will slip when dust accommodate too much in the transmission..

 

i've done mine at 11K after which the bike is smooth.. planning to do full service at 15K+- will replace belt, rollers, etc.

Do any of you guys know of an alternative cheaper non-original v-belt for Maxsym 400i?

The original v-belt costs around 200 euros (aprox.250 us dollars) here in Portugal! it's too expensive!

Hi @MERCENARY, Nope it dosen affect my FC at all, the last time i check FC was yesteday, where the needle drop to "F" @ 65km; same as the old airbox setup (25km/l).

My MAXSYM has finally reached 10000km. Just wondering what kind of service should i be looking for now?

 

Engine oil, oil filter and tranmission oil change at 5000km.

 

Anything that require to change?

for wedding especially Malay wedding in Singapore is not cheap bro (I am not sure bout chinese wedding la)

 

- Wedding Package including food and stage etc $15000

- Wedding gift bla bla bla total up to $30000

How much your installment? When your wedding?

 

Installment x number of months to wedding = ?

 

Weigh it bro. Is it worth to let go of your precious over the sum of money you can save from installment till your wedding? Think bout it... Your passion...

its quite expensive here in singapore too. costs around 180 SGD for the original belt, but i've not heard of an aftermarket 1 yet..

i think some pple tend to do different things at different maintenance intervals but i guess its safer to follow the engine manual recommendations.

for me at 10000km i changed gear oil, installed new dr pulley rollers, changed engine oil and oil filter and spark plug. but after that i realised that i forgot to clean air filter and clean transmission, because i wanted to do those at 10000km too. :)

Folks, are our windscreen's height adjustable? Anyone tried before?

 

Not really satisfied with the screen, looking around if there is larger aftermarket ones? Any ideas?

2005-2006 : Yamaha RXZ 135

2006-2010 : Honda Super 4 Spec I

2010-2012 : Honda VFR 800 5th Gen

2012-current : SYM MaxSym 400i

I have several friends with Maxsym. Every one of them says that their top speed is around 170 km/h and some told me that they reached 180 km/h (when going down).

 

My Maxsym only goes until 160 km/h and with some difficulty.

 

What do you guys think about this?

 

She also has a higher fuel consuption than most of my friends' Maxsyms.

 

I'm a little concerned...

Stock it is in d lower height. U can raise it up abit. Remove d black plastic shield below the windscreen. 2 screws from underneath. Then slide it down. Then expose the windscreen mounting bolts (x6). Remove then relocate the windscreen higher by aligning to the new mounting holes then replace everyting back.

 

To me not alot of difference. Im 178 but i still expreience a lot of buffeting at d helmet and shoulders. Nt sure if the givi windscreen is here alr. Can check wif Mah?

 

What do you guys think about this?

No offence but have u considered ur weight and body size? Im big (178cm and 95kg) and i get ard 25km/l. Sumtyms ur riding style plays a part too.

 

Top speed not tried yet. Only hit 140 once. Singapore no space to speed. Haha.
