im using Redline 10w40 from mxtradings. $20 per bottle. really smooth. in fact i cant differentiate this and motul 300v (unless my butt not sensitive enuf la. haha!). if u want, motul is at $28.

well thats where is follow ur heart or follow ur wallet. LOL. if my wallet no objection, definitely go for Tmax. its the best blend of both motorcycle and scooter. thrill of a motorcycle with practicality of scooter. but then again, im still grinning happily every single time walk up to my Maxsym. :)

I am planning to try out Royal Purple though.Any reviews riders?

My preference will be BMW pre mix coolant. Tested and proven.

Anyone got a servicing shop to recommend in the west? Tired of running to ubi for servicing and honestly they can be such a rip off at times. I'm not saying who. :cheeky:

I do my DRZ at Unique motor, but they don't handle MAXSYMs very professionally. Alot of exploring in the process of servicing. haha!

Pls recommend.

i am going to try out future scootering. Hopefully they meet my requirements lol

So they dont carry stock brake pads? Then u change to what brand?

Changed back to stock LPPL. All the brake pads for all the calipers are different.

Oh including GST too. WTH. I am planning to source for other brands.

Ok guys have done my research as well as opening up the calipers myself. Found out that we can get aftermarket brake pads for our scoot. Basically we use the same front brake pads as Aprilia Dorsoduro/Shiver (BREMBO LEI!)

According to these diagrams i got from EBC, they got list down all the model of bikes that use the same pads.

FA432 for the front caliper

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b35/adiknaim/FA432.jpg

it seems that both the front caliper can use the same pad (i put it side-by-side and on top each other like same size lei). however, left caliper only got 2 pistons, so basically half of ur pads will be unused (wasted lar). so if OEM one is cheaper, maybe can just get original lor. however, u at least have an option of getting better ones like HH sintered pads. the only issue is whether the extra material if used in the left pad will affect the braking, like causing extra drag. will try out once my pads gone. worse come to worse, just remove the material that wont be used lor.

FA213 for the rear caliper

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b35/adiknaim/FA213.jpg

shouldnt have issues wif this one la. not sure if HH type pads will be too powerful and easily lock up d rear wheel though.

using the reference number or the bike models, u can look around and you will be able to find brands such as SBS, Brembo and Goldfren. so dont worry about having to just stick wif OEM pads. :thumb:

pads can easily DIY one. just need allen key for the front and socket set for the rear. i opened mine up to clean the calipers. the OEM pads really create alot of dust one :sian: if im not lazy, the next time i might do a pic/video walkthrough on how to do it.

Do consider Vesrah brake pads too bros. I've tried them on another bike. Very responsive spot on braking. The distributor is at Lembu rd. Ever success if I am not wrong. Maybe with the specs given by Naim, Ill go check it out. But pricing is similar to EBC pads. Good thing about Vesrah is that they don't need 'bedding in'.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

Maybe u can update us on d price la. i might wanna change my front right one soon. The bite on the stock pads not so power ah. The worry i have is those sintered ones might eat d disc ah..

Naim, the EBC sintered pads I used before seemed to eat the brake discs. However the Vesrah sintered ones seems good till now. I've used them for about 20k KM liao.

Hi bros,

wanna share my tale with u guys. had my maxsym for about a month. was making a u turn at carpark today, then lost balance and dropped my bike :( always have the falling sensation when making tight u turns at crawling speed even with my legs down.

but what happened next was kind of weird, cuz the bike would not fall! it was sort of like 45 degrees. tried to pick the bike up but could not lift it. so i tried the gold wing method and it worked. so when i put my bike on main stand to inspect, my heart was sinking expecting to see scratches all over my bike. but to my delight, not a single spot! HAHAHA! tml going to buy 4D!

anyway what i wanted to ask u guys is how u all make small turns with ur legs down. is your bike straight, tilted, body counter tilted? im 169cm tall btw. cheers!

U mean when d bike fall, its leaning at 45 degrees? U nv see whats supporting it ah? I always tot d handlebar and exhaust will touch d ground first? U r lucky i guess. Usually those super tight slow turns i will just keep d bike upright n walk d bike while throttling abit. I find it rly hard to lean n hold low speed. Normal u-turns okla.
