Cool! Update us wif a pic soon! Personally nv ridden w/o box so not sure hw d handling affected. I tink ur HB oso heavier ryt? Dats y the effect very obvious.

image-4.jpegimage-5.jpegimage-6.jpegimage-7.jpegimage-8.jpegimage-9.jpeg

DONE!

Shifted no less than 4 inch forward. Looks balanced now. No more wishy washy from the front grip and CG feels centered below my butt. The position of the box is further forward than where my previous GIVI box was. The handling is now similar to without box, except during cruising (110-120km/h) bike is more susceptible to headwinds and cross winds.

Oh by the way workmanship from Bike Fabricator is fantastic. Ah Ahn is such a Pro. He put alot of effort to measure cut file smoothed spray fix lock.

We arranged for the mod on monday for late afternoon session today, when I arrived he was hands full fixing some other stuffs. He saw me and dropped the work and attended to my bike right away. I told him I have time can wait abit he just say we had a deal to fix there and then and he will not let me wait.

Compared to the cold shoulder I got from Seng Kwang days earlier I now know where I shall return for my future projects. And oh most important part, he is cheap.

Where is this bike fabricator bro?

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

Looks good man! So they made u an entirely new rack? Hw much did it cost?

No he just modded the existing Mah's rack. Cut and additional drilling to accomodate the base plate for better weight distribution. Also redo (Welding works) the supporting pillars underside due to the trimming of the plate. Need a few installation and dismantling of rack-base plate-Box to get the desired position. screws on screws off.

Few 10s of a dollar for a first time customer for almost an hour's work. I'm Sold.

I think it won't be as expensive as SK to project a rack for our bike. By the way look at Givi website, they have a very streamline rack for Maxsym.

in Singapore don´t have SHAD Box ? They also have rack and use the Original Screw to Fix it.(Made from Aluminium)I have this from OyaBun Bangkok.

If some people want this i can send to you, easy.

Awesome! thanks for the lobang! hard to find these kind of honest and customer-driven shops nowadays... mostly all increase charges once they get popular... tsk tsk...

sorry, i not familiar with parking in that area, just suggested cuz i think it will be less crowded than the upper thomson area near thomson plaza. see how many ppl can make it? then perhaps i can finally meet up with the rest of the maxsyms :)

There are 4-5 bike slots right in front of Casurina Prata.

Very tempted to attempt this DIY.

Any electronics expert think its possible on a maxsym?

yup. possible. almost wanted to do it on my phantom right b4 i sold it. just need the right parts. RFID modules and relays.

or for just over $200, u can get ready made set from scorpio: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170946748453?item=170946748453&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&cmd=ViewItem&hash=item27cd386025&vxp=mtr

expensive but its worth it IMO since it is also an alarm, as well as the RFID works on FM transmission, which means all u just hv to be near the bike physically. the one u posted from the triumph forum requires u to place ur tag very near ur sensor then can activate. nt as convenient lar.

that's his ver1. His ver 2 is totally hands free and keyless.

Saw the Scorpio selling for $220 at motoworld. The Scorpio is not a keyless ignition. It's only disarm the alarm when you walk near. The whole DIY is to mod the Scorpio to ignore the key totally. The guy did it for a Scorpio too but a higher end model.

I did tried to source for the sombra alarm. On ebay us for usd$55 but shipping it here may be a challenge. Thing I'm concerned is he did not mention what are the 6wires from the ignition. It may not be the same as on the maxsym. Other than that the whole thread is very detailed. DIY is possible. Only the 6 wires ....

Anyway think I'll put this on the radar. See your windscreen mod 1st.

Do something like this http://www.laminarlip.com/pc800.php would be nice.

Guess need to look at the wiring diagram and try n see which circuit to tap into. But then again, i dont see the need to eliminate the key. We still need the key to unlock the steering. At most the rfid make us look cool. Haha. Unless like the ducati multistrada keyless ignition whr it will automatically lock/unlock the steering as well. Pretty cool!

Anw my deflector nt too good ah. Got caught in the rain last nyt and since its in my line-of-sight, my vision was quite obscured. I saw the laminar lip b4 but that one got many intricate bends n curves. Nt easy to achieve unless i get a heatgun maybe.

Lol eliminating the key is the whole point. Cause I Kena key locked underseat once already and no spare. Seat can open from handle button without key. Handle lock not so critical in sg imo. That's why I feel this diy very suited for maxsym :p
