Hi fellow Maxsym owners. My spec 2 coe is about to finish soon, so I am quite tempted to trade in for a scooter. How does the maxsym compare to the SW, other than the cost itself? This is my first time riding a taiwan brand; so far my experience with Honda bikes have been very good other than the occasional wear and tear. Any super 4 owners who are now riding the maxsym, how is ur experience so far, servicing cost...? I am not into speed, just daily commuting to work, so would rather want a bike that is relatively trouble free.

So far it is trouble free, quite stable. Eo is abt 2l, gear oil abt $5-10, filter abt $10. Very comfortable and can reach Max of 160km/h.

I switch from SW to Maxsym due to the fact that SW makan more oil (20-21km/l) compare to Maxsym (26-27km/l). Handling wise Maxsym is also better compare to SW aka no Fishtaling during corners. :thumb:

Servicing super cheap bro:

1) ROUTINE 5k KM: 2bottles of EO (+/- $40), Oil Filter ($10), Gear Oil ($8)

2) EVERY 20k KM or more: Change rollers, Belting, Clips (+/- $150 Price based on SW, it shld be ard the same as SYM belting is MADE-IN-JAPAN)[i heard sym scoot belt can last well over 30k Km as compare to the italian ones]

A very reliable piece of machine, the further u go the smoother it gets :thumb: P/S my maxsym alrdy @ 6400km mileage...hehehe

no major issue beside the airbox hitting the spring..but they have rectified the problem alrdy..the only problem is the further u go, the smoother the engine gets :D

btw i went to malacca via 2nd link and i top up full tank at shell jurong port road there..i am quite suprise that when i reach malacca, my tank still have 1/2 left @ 235km...for a 14.5l it concludes that this bike is petrol friendly :thumb:

I check on google map, from Tuas Checkpoint to KL is 345km, meaning our bike can go all the way to KL in one full tank [14.5l x 27km/l = 391.5km]

My 1 month old maxsym open seat indicator light turns on despite the seat is firmly lock on both sides. After 'banging' or seating on the seat, it will turn off but again will light on after I parked the bike. Will be going down to Mah on Mon to rectify the issue. Wandering if you guys ever encounter this kind of problem.

Been riding a revo for the past 2 years before switching to maxsym. Now my maxsym is abt 1 month old and so far quite happy with it. The acceleration is satisfactory, good handling and cornering as well as ample storage space in addition to a 46l Kappa box. There is no fault at my previous revo, only that I juz could not stand the heat being generated from the engine, especially during traffic jam in the hot afternoon sun. Believe me, your hair legs can get burned!! The storage space in maxsym is generous, you can never find it in revo. My not a speedster, so cruising at 100-110km/h is effortless for this machine. Servicing is cheap also. My 1000km servicing recently cost me $80 (2 bottles of maxxa fully syn oil, Denso iridium plug, oil filter & castrol gear oil) compared to $240 for my previous revo (4 bottles fully sun oil, 4 iridium plugs & oil filter). However, of course there are some issues with honda and maxsym. The most obvious is the resale price. I sold my 2 years revo at $9800 when it was bought at $12800 brand new. Well that was when the COE was low...However I do felt that I will never be able to get that kind of resale value in a Maxsym. Another issue is the locking seat mechanism. Damn I hate that thing. I will always be having problems locking the left side of the seat. It will took me ages for it to get locked. Now the open seat indicator keeps turning on despite the seat being locked at both sides. Will be going down to agent to rectify this problem. The yellow box release button at the left handle also is a big headache for me coz keep on pressing that button whereas i actually wanted to blast my horn. Quite a number of motorist and pedestrian were spared of my horn due to wrong pressing of button....Other than these issues, I'm quite happy with my maxsym. Lots of my friends jeers me for getting a Taiwan brand bike. They told me i should get Honda silverwing instead. Well thats a price gap of $6500 and if they are paying for it, ill definitely gget that beast. To conclude, i have full trust that my maxsym will serve me well for say 4-5 years time.

Dun be bother by what ppl say. Of course if u can afford, u can pay more and get the same CC and similar performance bike.

We are just getting a bike that we can afford and problem free.

There's this contact switch near the front pivot of the seat, where when lowered there's this part of the seat that compress the switch to turn off the open seat indicator, Use your finger to press on it and see if the light goes out, and also check if the contact from the seat 'sits' well when closed.

i have the same problem too but i do my own diy fix, i use bigger washer and steel epoxy to glue the top part of the "thing" which suppose to press a button when the sit is close. i did dat coz sometimes i see that it did not press on the button causing the seat unlock light to on coz the contact point is narrow, so i but bigger washer to make the contact point wider. its located on the front right side below the seat btw...i take some pix of what ive done tomorrow:D
