It may or not the spark plug, but anyway if the spark plug has served more than 6000km, it is always good to change, only $4 ~ $5 depending on where you get it.

Sym uses grade 8 series plug for our weather, grade 7 for colder countries, don't use grade 9, can be difficult on crank start and it only good for loooong distance like traveling to North with few hundred km per stop.

I went ac motors just now..i ask him for u..he say its the spark plug bro..u need to change:)

He also added that our scoot use spark plug the warm type (i seriously dont know the diff, he say got warm n cold type)

Our weather and road condition best to use 85w-140, it is also the recommended grade. 85w-90 also can use but cannot withstand long distance (eg. going north) the final drive may damage if too hot.

If follow by the book its xxw140 which is so freaking hard to find bro..so i bo pian i use the castrol 85w90 if i am not wrong..its the grey colour bottle most bike shop has it....

Actually it is available but come in big bottle (4 or 5L) so best is to share coz our sheep only need around 120ml per change and it last for 5000km. You can find it at car oil products shop, not very expensive also.

Alternatively, can buy the tube version which is around 130ml to 180ml per tube, but expensive, once asked it cost $8, which is crazy.

90w-140 is a bit too thick for scooter but should be still ok.

Even 330ml per change, if 5L dunno use until which year. :dozed:

the recommend is 85w140.

90w140 is equivalent and it can last abit longer.

Why get 5l? When u can get those in qtr.

Btw you are riding pcx right? Your son gotten the maxsym?

I am riding Evo now, my few friends are riding maxsym/silver and gold wings and I am looking for a good PCX. Toying with bike is my hobby, downgraded from toying with cars when young, now too old and poor to modify cars, haha...

30 years of fun covering from simple to complicated cars/bikes. My team of kakis do 'stock' look super cars/bikes that under the hoot made the different.

For the gear oil, if can get the smaller size of course is good, just have to pay more. Best for bike/scooter is 80w-140, more optimal for low/high working environment, a small digit different can made a lot of different, 90w have much higher low end effective range, simply means the gear box need to be warmer before the oil can effectively protect the gears, xxw-90 vs xxw-140 is the high end temperature, 90 is ok but not suitable for long ride but it is lighter, 140 is good for local and north condition, only thing is a bit heavy and sticky.

Yeah i make the switch but never cut any thing..just add extra wire n switch thats all..

The live wire of hid connect directly to the original socket and the neutral i plug one frm the hid to the swich and plug back to the original socket...hard to explain in words..i try to draw the diagram and pot it here bro...

Hi,

I dont have this problem now. Also dunno what happened on that few days.

It's still ok, but not suitable for long distance ride, eg go north for more than 100km @ 100km/h, the gearbox will be too hot and the oil will not effectively protect the final drive component. For normal Singapore riding, it is more than enough.

gear oil im using 80w-90... issit bad.?? : ( ...
