no lah.. pipercross is not the only foam filter. many stock bike comes with foam filter eg. RXZ.

Anyways, I found on chong aik catalogue, they have PJ1 air filter oil & cleaner (sold separately) sold in spray cans. I haven't call them up yet but when its time to clean my air filter, I will cal them and ask if they have stock.

K&n states to wash it under running tap water.

After that, let it dry and apply the oil on the higher strips.

Did it myself personally.

The recharge kit is cheap. got it at mah motors i think opposite sim lim tower.

Bike shop will charge $10. Often using compressed air.

hahaha the website says every 30,000 miles which is like +/- 60,000 km then check.

But ah. cleaning air filter will make your fc get better! :thumb:

clean stock air filter can allow at least twice the amount of air your engine can use and K&N can provide more even if it is loaded with dust and dirt.

here is K&N recommendation on when to clean.. look at the pictures and they specially bold the instruction which mean it is important and there is good reason for it.

K&N filter provide high flow rate in the expenses of filtration. as the filter get dirty, the filtration actually improve. i even read that some engineer suggest 90% of the dirt that passes thought all air filter happened in the first 10% of the filter life. over cleaning your filter actually has no real benefit rather you are loving your bike to death. you are letting in more dirt and risk damaging the filter every time you clean it.

if K&N make the above suggestion, you can be sure they know what they are saying. they have a very well equipped facility to test the filter before making the recommendation.

as much as bike shop mechanics think you should clean it every 10,000km, they don't know what they are suggesting. K&N do:thumb:
