win xp is the OS while excel n stuffs are MS office. if u have juz format ur PC, u probably need both CDs. XP itself does not comes with office components.

yep ... XP is the OS itself... access and excel are in microsoft office ... as stated by standlee .... U need the office CD to install the microsoft office stuff like words, access,excel ... If u r at wits end u can get the cd frm me. But be warned.. my cd is non original
