is it to make the rate of combustion faster? instead of 12.5:1 now at the same given amt of time, it takes in 25:2 or 50:4(ratio same but more combustion?)?

There is no difference between 12.5:1, 25:2 and 50:4.

yar those particular magical figures r chosen for one apparent reason that there is no difference. what's your pt?

If 1 person can eat 12.5 watermelons in 5mins, then 4 pple can eat 50 watermelons in 5mins. The ratio is the same, 1 person still got to eat 12.5, but in the span of 5 mins, 50 watermelons were consumed instead of 12.5. This is wat I was asking.

compression ratio and air/fuel ratio are not the same thing..

wat i mention was compression ratio? il4 says it's diff, i supposed it's different, y would anyone name a fruit as apple and orange at the same time..

but it wasn't my intention to bring in compression ratio because i dun even know the technicality of it. basically i just asking abt the airfliter only..

wat i thought was allow more air in order to allow more petrol to mix, but i not sure so i ask.

if after having more airflows lean up the air fuel ratio from pilot circuit to needle all the way to main jet, how ar? still horse power gain?

anyway free flow also means a dip in air pressure.....if u know how carburator work, u probably can figure out wats gonna happen and wat need to be done to correct it

This is something that is still puzzling me. Is the K&N a fit and go thingy or rejetting is really needed? If more airflow is is created, wont the air fuel ratio be more lean as stated by il4? I had ask a couple of local motorshop b4 regarding this issue, they claimed no rejetting is needed after installing a K&N. IMO, I think rejetting is needed to obtain the correct air fuel ratio because the bike is running more lean now. Who's right, whose wrong? Any advice and comments?

Hmmmm...I am not sure what does the jetting here means, but I do know that changing to K&N Air Filter, you will need to do a re-tuning. Retuning would already show performance improvement.

To optimize the performance gain, a change of jets are definitely recommended but not necessary.

I studied commerce back then.....boohooohoo, u seems very interested in my past...

seriously dude, would u love to meet me up for coffee or something, ya one interesting character.. :p

Coffee? Sure, but you have to take a number as there is a queue in front. A line of chicks has already formed up! I guess you kinda assume that 'me got wife' sort of guy.

HI, how u guys who have installed the KNN find it? Cos I rode my fren's VTEC 1 with KNN, I feel like the engine n throttle response quite rough leh although feels like got improve some power. Anyone feel so? Is it supposed to be like that or u can tune it to be smooth like the stock one.

Is it even when u change to KNN, the air/oil ratio is still the same or the the ratio change to more air less fuel? If so shld we tune the air flow smaller to maintain the "desired" mixture ratio so as to achieve the smoothness of the engine? Cos i am very puzzled and wondering if i should change to KNN or stay with original.

Hello! Hello!

seriously i feel no diff in my vtec onli engine roars louder when vtec is activated...LOL..for me onli advantage is no need always buy air filter ..knn can be reuse and reuse..till u think its too old...keke

was a simple gesture to be alittle less hostile to u...nvm then

its humans to make assumption base on available facts like for example your age displays that you are 40, and hence a NORMAL human will assume that at that age group u probably have a family which is a norm in singapore......

unless of course u have something to hide and hence u deliberately to mistate your age to hide the truth fact....

then again i have to make another assumption coz not many guys here heard or seen or RIDEN a RG125.....and hence this assumption makes good sense that ya 40......

asumption assumptions..... :? :? :? :?

no more coffee for u then.....happy posting

Hmm... sorry that you took it as hostile, wanted it to appear as a joke to you. Guess you got trickle at the wrong spot.

The facts are right but your assumptions are wrong, but it is normal as you say to think along such lines.

Actually hor, still got many baby RGs around just that they are being swarmed by the newer bikes and therefore does not appear to be seen much.

Don't worry, I got this feeling that someday we will sure meet up one! :D

if u are riding a ver s, take out the left side cover, u can see the air filter. take out and replace. it's much easier then to replace a vtec one.

alternatively, u may wanna go to mah motorparts and replace it, they can fix u for u.
