new kit cost ard $18.....mind i gave away to one of the shops in Alexandra village...specII air filter must remove tank then can access sia.....

anyone know how long the stock air filter lasts?

 

i asked the mech to air blow it once. and i think it was a little black then at 12000km.

 

not sure when i shld be changing it. any symptoms to tell me when i shld change the air filter? thanks

last you about 15,000km in normal road riding condition.

 

symptoms are:

1. lost in power

2. rich fuel mixture

3. the bike feels like choking

i clean my k&n after 15,000km. others do it after 10,000km.

but the reading material that k&n gives says 50,000miles or something like that

 

rich mixture is caused by too much fuel, very little air. 1 way to tell is by the colour of the plugs. unexplained increase in fuel consumption is another tell-tale sign.

thank man now i know i need to wash my k & n again. but only 2 mth so fast rich mixture already?? i used to wash every 6 mth.

 

that the reason i got wet plug last week and i change my plug after i took out to see and found out.

my bike getting slow respond where trottling . i DIY this weekend.

there could be a few reasons for wet plugs. while wet plugs confirm you are running a rich mixture, it might not all be 100% attributed to filter.

basically any of your components affecting the 2 ingredients (air and fuel) could be possible causes for your wet plugs. i suggest you look at the valves/screws/jets regulating/supplying the air and fuel. 1 of them could be "off".

i take out, sand n spray n clear coat it but not so well done, cos i done it at night. hard to dry and see.

i just cut away the top and bottom, file abit then stick 1 round of 3M black double side tape around the top of the shock and alittle on the bottom of it and slot the can up.

 

can use the hand held grinding machine (i think most motor shop have it) to grind the top part away.
