u can feel the difference when u throttle to a certain rpm, n yr speed cannot b up. Tat means the filter is plug up liaoz. Juz like human being nose, if too much dust stuck in the nose, got difficulty breathing. It applies to the filter similarly...:thumb:

ever ask abt K&N w/ my mechanic, NOT recommended.

more power but choke ur carb & cylinders faster.

reason being, more coarse element unlike HONDA original. (tight & fine element really filter the intakes...)

well tis jus wht mechanic told me & make sense. for viewing pleasure, no personal preference for all K&N users out there...

anyway, the original's not cheap either @ $40.....

sukie, ur choice, cheers................

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

This is also what my mech told me, some more my frnd uncle.. dont think will cheat me... air filter almost once a yr or close to 10k km.

k& N will be more powerful becos of bigger air thru... blockage of carb will definately increases.... so not advisable..

: ) for old bikes if nvr take care then problem started to arise unlike FR n above..

no need to wash b4 tuning..... juz ask ur mech to tune the air fuel mixture will do

Pls clarify ok.

U said install K&N and then need to tune air fuel ratio.

All bikes need to run on a certain fuiel ratio right ? There's always this magic number. Cuz too much then burning lean, too less buring rich. Right ?

Now, K&N increases air flow without tuning when installed. Right ?

That means bike now runs lean before tuning.

So after tuning, it goes back to the magic number ( i wonder how mechs get this number when tuning!). Right ?

So what's the diff now ?

Between using stock and K&N ??

Back to sq one.

Cheers !

i dunno how to explain this..... but after tuning my bike feel lighter to rev, save petrol abit, pick up increase abit...... everyone gt their pt of view..... for example some ppl will go for tuning after running in, some will juz continue riding...... for all my frens, they tune the bike n found the diff too.... maybe u would like to ask ur mech the reason
