It must be very sad. The rain squashed everything. This rain will ocntinue for some time as its early jan period. Hopefully it'll end latest by 10/01/05

Last checked mail at 12++ yesterday, so didn't know trip was cancelled. Emailed Alex but apparently he didn't receive.

 

Went down to GP Esso. 1/4 wet from light drizzle. Didn't see any Kawa group. There was a mixed group of bikers who told me no one else came this morning. "sh*t, don't tell me kenna played out?", I thought.

 

Stood there like a fool waiting for rain to stop. Instead, rain started getting heavier & heavier. The group of bikers invited me to join them for breakfast at nearby canteen. I readily agreed.

 

Found out 1 of them is Aqualung, from this forum. He & his group of hard-core riders were planning a Mersing trip too, but due to heavy rain, a change of plan. They decided to do a highway run to Machap.

 

After breakfast, we started out. Previous riding with Stormriders has taught me to respect "uncles" & their steed. True enough, they soon left me far behind. Bike horsepower always play second fiddle to rider experience. This is the first time I dare to go above 140kph in driving rain with road visibility down to 50m. But when the road becomes heavy with traffic, and I was forced to slow down, these uncles just squeeze between and continue going. Their balls must be bigger than rambutans!

 

Luckily for me, the last rider, Koh, in a ZX-10R with cool race fairing, kept pace with me. I was forced to follow behind cars, buses & lorries throwing up huge sprays of water at 110kph. Koh's wrists & back must be killing him going at this speed. Sorry neh!

 

Finally reached Machap totally drenched, & joined the rest for a much needed hot drink. Listened to some interesting stories like a race between a Haya & a souped up Porsche going above 290kph. Winner: Haya, of course!

 

Then onto the road home. Despite my best efforts, I was again left far behind. Just don't have the confidence to cut between cars in this weather. On the way, passed by a road accident involving a car with a smashed up front, reminded me that danger was never very far away.

 

So busy trying to overtake cars that I missed the turn into GP. Have to U-turn about 5km further on, ending up causing Aqualung & gang to wait at Petronas kioks. Sorry again, neh!

 

All in all, a very cold, wet ride with some unexpected but welcome company. What a great way to begin a new year! :smile:

 

Lastly, heard one of the riders was caught by TP at Tuas & has to attend court this Tuesday. Wish him all the best. I myself rode past a mobile speed cam above the speed limit & waiting anxiously for any unwelcome letter. So folks, TP out in force. Ride carefully, please. Thanks for reading. :thumb:

Hi currypuff,on the way to Machap,I was the one who was behind you. Koh rides a ZX7, and the color is the same as mine.So I guess you have mistaken me for Koh.

Now I know long my leathers is going to hold under the rain before it gets wet.

Anyway, hope we all learn something from the ride.

hey guys time for servicin.. but i got a question for u guys.. i changin my sparks plug too.. n i realise i got a set of NGK platinum plug CR9EVX..is it suitable to be used on my ZX10 cos previously plan for my srad750?n these plugs market sellin for how much huh?
