Hello guys,

Need to check, I have a bike which is normal, have insurance and road tax on it.

I am planning to buy another bike. My insurance company(MSIG) allows me to cancel the insurance and 100% prorated can be transfered to the new bike and just pay the remaining amount for 1 yr insurance.

After I have the insurance transfered, I am going to keep my current bike in the car par until it is sold. Then the new buyer(whenever I find) will buy his own insurance and I can do the transfer.

Is there any problem/legal issue in the above procedure?

Thanks,

pulser

your best bet would be to layout the bikes with LTA. will cost you less than 20.00 all in. can't ride the bike. need to know what carpark code number, afterwhich you can leave it there but still continue to pay season until new owner comes along. one thing bad about it is, if you do find an interested party, they will not be able to test ride it else its your neck on the chopping block if caught.

looking for drz parts, any parts will do!

Thanks. But that doesn't answer my question.

I would like to know is it illegal "having" a bike without insurance? Normally, if you dont have insurance then you cannot renew road tax. There is late road tax renewal fine. But it is not an offence per say to "have" a bike without road tax/insurance. Riding without them is a different matter.

Now my question is, after buying insurance and getting road tax. If you just cancel the insurance and get refund, is that legal or not?

Can't believe no one can answer this :dozed:
