Knock on lorry side while squeezing through vehicle.

Hi, need some advise. I am a P plate rider, I was riding squeezing through vehicle. At one point of time my motor mirror knock on the lorry side, there wasn't any bump or dent on my plastic mirror so I juz rode off without stopping. Now come to think about it, did I commit an offense without stopping? Pls advise. Tks.

Nothing will happen. Lorry is metal so will be fine. Maybe only small scratch. Even car I also no problem.

Oh ok. Will the lorry driver take down my number and report it as hit and run?

Theoretically, it would be considered hit and run, if he can prove that the dammage was caused by you and the witnesses.

 

In actual fact, the lorry metal would obliterate your mirror before it can even cause a single scratch on it.

Thanks guys. There wasn't any scratches or dent on my mirror at all. It's just a light slap on the lorry, maybe is the repercussion of the metal that make it sound serious. Anyway thanks guys/ladies for the positive comment.

Just saying, if it happens again, be it car / lorry. See if driver has noticed, wave hand to apologise and then see how. More often than not they'll either be cool or give angry face at worst. Rarely will go through the hassle of stopping to get witness to fill out IDAC report for minor mirror ding. (Unless you hit a ferrari). Most of the goods vehicles are so battered that they won't know the difference from one ding to another, but it pays to be courteous.

 

Of course if they didn't even notice, then move along, don't hold up the other riders behind .
