Problem with Battery

Hi guys, I own a SP with a digital speedo which the previous owner changed.

 

So when I first got the bike, I went to do some standard servicing, like replace batt, engine oil, spark plug etc.

 

About 2 weeks later, I found the battery draining really fast (the speedo has a voltmeter), so I thought the motor tiam tok me gimme shitty batt.

Then I went to another shop to find out what's wrong. The uncle told me since I'm using a digitial speedo the consumption will be bigger, so need a bigger batt (more Amp), which made sense to me la.

 

But another 2 weeks later the same thing happened again.

 

Anyone can help me out? Thanks guys. I really don't know what's wrong

change back to stock meter? if dont hv then i think is coil or rectifier problem?

wah. that 2nd shop really funny. ask u change to bigger battery. ur bike obviously draining the battery which basically means either:

 

1) ur speedo consuming alot of electricity, so run off ur battery as well

2) charging system spoil = coil/rectifier/both got problem...

 

though i highly doubt ur digital speedo will consume so much electricity la. nt as if ur speedo got one headlight bulb inside. i would first use a real multimeter at the battery and check if its charging. if its not, then try n remove ur speedo. if still not charging, will be option 2 alr.

Highly unlikely that ur speedo draining alot of battery though lolol.

 

Likely ur rectifier or coil. (95%)

it should be option 2.. many other bikes with digital speedo and no issue..

speedo might be spoilt or rectifier is bonkers

Best to get yr bike charging system checked at a good LBS (local bike shop).
