What is the proper procedure for selling # plate???

some time in the near future, i'll probably have to de-register my bike and sell my nice #plate.

 

to my understanding, once bike is de-registered, i can retain the #plate by paying $100 to LTA.

 

does anyone know what is the LTA procedure and fees involved for transferring the #plate ownership?

Lets say you wanna sell your number plate for 5000. Buyer wants to buy your number and put onto his existing bike cost 1300. Altogether buyer must fork 5000 to you and 1300 to LTA.

 

1. Both of you agree on the price.

2. Both of you meet at LTA Sin Ming.

3. Go to the counter and inform them your intention.

4. Get the forms to fill up.

5. He pay you monies and you transfer to him.

 

Buyer given 3 working days to change to new number plate

to clarify further, can i hold on to the #plate only, without registering it to another bike, then within 1 year transfer ownership of the #plate to the buyer?
