u jammed at JB? dunno about xing hock, but my previous SP owner changed piston at AGL, came back SG, suddenly piston jammed at causeway.. pay 200 to tow back SG.. then heard the piston is chiong one..

 

xing hock's ah pin told me piston ring need changed.. but i asked Planet Motor, they said no need.. last time went LAB, they also no mentioned need to change piston ring..

i stay in serangoon north... ya sometimes i'm at hougang plaza go play cs.. haha.. but my bike is stock paintwork... very common ma.. dun stalk me ok.. haha

 

no la the chain lub is like the WD40.. spary on 1.. so u spray on ur whole chain.. noneed brush 1 easier..

go buy those 70 dollar yoshimura footrest at ah boy then go agl to fix on. agl there will cost you about 25 ringgit to fix ?

 

for the time being use some WD40 go spray on the "joints" and moving parts of your footrest to lubricate them. DO NOT USE WD40 ON YOUR CHAIN AS LUBRICATION !!! unless you wanna die young...

if you wanna save, then don't change. if you want better performance and better life-span for your piston, then change.

 

different mechanics have different views. honestly i find that xing hock will try to help you save if you don't have the budget for it. just my honest opinion though.

i agree wif what fnee says.... ah pin recommend u to change becoz to protect ur engine from having problems to other part of the engine so he ask u to change and btw i wont bring my bike to ah boy mech to do coz they are $%^&* they have no respect for ur bike unless for the tall and fit mech.....

seriously lab mechanics,cmi one la. workmanship poor,service cmi,make u wait long long for a small thing. imo,xinghock will ask u to change when piston is losing its power whereas lab would most prolly tell u, still can use cos it really still can be used what,except no power lor.

then how about those stock footrest? where to get them? i'm more use to the stock ones.. dont really like those yoshi's..

oops... i really should not compare LAB mec to ah pin..

 

bcos at least ah pin will still joke when servicing bike, and i got to talk to him although he's busy.. LAB lei, say liao darn angry.. pay money liao, still need to see their face to do my bike.. pissed of lor..

 

anyway i will reco planet motor lor.. the guys there including the boss very frenly although they do "curse"... lol.. the mec who do my bike r from JB oso.. heard he do bike since 16 yrs old.. now he's 29 liao.. i asked him to check my piston ring if still can use anot bcos i prepared to change if he said yes, he took about 10 mins turning the ring.. but nothing mentioned..

 

later i said my exhaust pipe got leaked smoke, he used thick cardboard to use as gasket to stop the smoke.. DIY no charge.. even lube my chain although i din ask..(no charge oso)... but b4 i went back, he mentioned i need to top up my brake pump though..

 

(now i rather pay more, go elsewhere oso no LAB)...

 

the boss ah chong told me i could put my bike there, watever he promised, he will deliver, else "ming yi shao di".. heard he's driving Merz although u could see him dirty changing engine oil for bike..

 

jus some sharing.. after spending 400 changing block..
