hey everyone. i happened to come across this thread. i'm a new sp rider. have been riding sp for roughly 2 months. so if there is a meeting, i hope i could join. to learn more about sp as well. yeah.

yah...mi went HKL juz now say wanna change steerin cone. the tech used the term cone bearin instead.

 

u change yourself?

 

siaoz bo...u c wad he do u oso :faint:. haf to down the 2 forks de lor. then haf to adjust the positions, knock here knock there, heavi grease all the contact points...alot of work.

So problem solve??

 

Steering cone...You dont change the cone, you change the steering cone bearing and seals inside..Thus cone bearing..

When you jack up the front wheel, you turn the handle over to 1 corner and release, it doesnt free turn by itself to the other side but stuck 1/2 way going over..

but the RPM cable changed le the needle still RIP. haiz...realli haf to change the whole meter. :sian:

other than wad rol said, u try to ride like u r in a S course(like motgp they warm up tyres startin they like to do the S alot). if smooth then ok. for mi is the bike will haf a stronger pull on the right side. (this 1 u haf to feel it urself...hard to explain. but this way is the most obvious.)

 

or they oso suggest freehand n let ur bike roll straight. it should go straight onli, u shouldnt feel any pull on either sides.

Freehand roll straight is indeed for alignment but when ur cone bearing screw up, you will feel it slightly and most likely you will play it off for alignment issues..

 

As such on Sunday night, i lifted up his front wheel to confirm since we have already play out alignment issue earlier on, i showed him the issue with his cone bearings which resulted in a non free moving steering cone when the handle is tilted to 1 side and allowed to free turn..

yupz...he full lock to 1 side 1st. then he tap the handle to let it move abit. got stuck in the mid. by rite the handle bar will move all the way to the other side de.

hmmmm... SO how to go ur hse ar?

 

1. u can take PIE exit toh guan rd.

 

2. after the 1st traffic light u keep rite and do a U-turn.

 

3.keep left turn left ahead before the traffic light.

 

4. after u pass a bus-stop, turn rite at traffic light ahead.

 

5. turn left at the roundabout and follow the white line on the road. it will lead u to a shelter.
