Welcome bro. Vicom Sin Ming. Better go get it changed. Currently im using portable IU (5v battery), So its in my bag rather than on my bike. Usually bring it along when going town.....or when i know i be passing thru ERP.

I forgot, another idea is just cut off/remove your current IU, and juz make it portable and put in your bag. It will never be subjected to rain even without the plastic cover...

Hi guys, cant find the more recent IU replacement thread.

But anyway, did anyone replace their IU recently?

Mine broke for the 2nd time in 4 years. Replaced it at Sin Min VICOM 2 years back when the IU cover cracked and basically flew off the bike. :D

The current one suffered the same fate due to the honestly crap design, but I still have the cover with me and the IU is working perfectly otherwise.

Has anyone replaced their IU recently for the crack cover? Please advise is it still at Sin Ming?

Thanks!

Replace cover yes i did. S$5.35 or S$5.25 at Sin Ming. I went twice. First time was attended by a Filipino and he suggested replacing the whole unit at S$155.

Thereafter i wrote to LTA who probably gave my plate number to Sin Ming for this case. Attended by a Malay abang.

So i suggest you call Sin Ming, check for stock of the "S$5 cover".

Apparently the slim version (new) have two model, both are slim the differences;

new: fuse are located very near the IU unit

old: fuse are located about 0.5m away from unit.

both IU cover are of different size, please call LTA on availability before heading down, to avoid disappointment.
