Urgent! Undetectable IU woes

Hi guys, my IU unit seem to be screwing up my payment methods badly.

 

No idea why, my IU unit doesnt light up..

It gives me entry into gantries, but when i go out the screen on the gantry either says smth like "NO IU Detected" or "Insert cashcard"

 

 

Any idea what is the problem? And solutions/advice?

 

Cus i might have gone through a few ERPs without realizing it.

Vicomm not open today either.. dun wanna risk going thru ERPs..

IU no light up when u insert cashcard means it cud be the wires came loose, or that the fuse blew. either way, have to go vicom

My IU seems to be spoiled too. when entering carpark, IU was detected, but when leaving some case like u, when I insert cashcard, the beep sound is abnormal too. It goes beeeepppppp for 2 sec instead of the usual beep that last 0.2. Seems the IU screen had been blurish for a long time, i'm not sure if the balance can be detected too but eh.. seems like theres no more hope for my IU?

Go vicom and check. Does it still under warranty? As for the blurish, i guess some water seep through your iu unit thus explains why.

only vicom can check? other inspection centre dont?

just go over to vicom tmr, get it check and write in after checking. explain to them that your IU is down on sunday thus you can't get it replace because vicom is close.

 

and yes only vicom can check/replace current IU. warranty should be 3yrs and must have the cover otherwise, warranty void.

if i were to go vicomm and they tell me its spoilt, do i have to replace it there and then? Or i can just go off and continue riding?

yes you have to replace it there and then. if under warranty they would give you a new IU and ask you to go bike shop and fix. if not under warranty can either buy from them or you can go bike shop and buy 2nd hand IU unit.

Warranty for 5 years from the date it issued to the bike.

 

Not only Vicom provide for inspection: change of IU.

 

In your case send it for inspection the next available working day. If your IU is defective, it will not summon you or ask you to pay up all the entry fees you go thru (the ERP system is smart to pick up whether there is a fault , cashcard inserted...

I think if you got a faulty IU and went through ERP they will most probably send a letter for inspection soon haha.

STA also does IU replacement. Changed mine at STA inspection centres, thus Vicom is not your only choice. Also, these centers does installation for you.

 

I've replaced mine twice at STA Tuas and Vicom Yishun, both does replacement and because my IU is still under warranty (5 years), it is free of charge.

 

There is no need to write report or ensure your reason is valid because they'll definitely replace a faulty IU.
