Transitted from Trax(the 1st edt) to Xplorer to Trax(2nd edt) and currently back to Xplorer(but by Krauser not by Hepco) :screwy: hahah

Xplorer is the biggest no doubt... And the beat constructed imho, once my entire box fell of the rack (blunder never lock the mount) and rolled otr at lentor exit corner, picked it up and amazed that little damaged was inflicted on the box.

Trax on the other hand is small, only able to fit 1 helmet and the material isnt as sturdy as the xplorer, no need for crashes, my 1st Trax developed bumps due to forcing helmet upon closings shows that its not really a hard constructed box.. Cant imagine hw wld it take a crash impact. And plus i find Trax not realy waterproof..

No comments on Gobi tho since ive never used it b4 but its plastic!! And looks like some apek selling ice cream haha no offence to Gobi users..

Used the Trax and the Xplorer before as well. Now I'm on the Hepco Becker Alu standard.

Trax looks nice... 38L of space but there are plenty of users complaining of water sipping in. The interior honestly is quite 'crude' and the rivets actually scratched my helmet.

Xplorer is 45L and i used both the alu and the matt black before. Its able to fix 2 open face helmets in a '69' position. Contrary to bro swat's experience, I have negative experience with this. The bracket to the rack is plastic. And many owners had the bad experience of it breaking. Replacing this to a stainless steel one at Ah Ann would set u back around $120 or so.

Gobi is plastic and its actually not a true 45L as the walls are double layered with pocket of space inside. That said, there's no rivets or screws that might scratch your precious items. However, prolonged exposure to elements like rain and shine will deteriorate the colour. But this is a very hardy box and almost indestructible.

As for my current topbox... The Alu Standard. This is a no frills aluminium box. Simple and solid. 35L means its only suitable for single helmet but still enough space for a raincoat and canvas. This is one tough box and able to withstand plenty of abuse.

@swat & Paikia44 : Great & Detailed Review.

For keepin "Nova Type helmet", Two Raincoat, Tool pouch & single bike cover.

Which of this following Box fit in nicely for above item? Nicely as in noforce needed to closethe box.

Single helmet? If u like sufficient space and not having to rearrange your items almost everytime u use it, you will appreciate the Xplorer 45L or even the Gobi. The Trax 38L might be a little squeezey although still ok.

As said, I'm on the 35L Alu std and I can fit a XXXXL canvas, raingear, a small pouch and sunshades. Everything is in a nice 'tight' fit.

Go down to MTechnik and take a look at the aluminium cases for yourself. There's also the Rimowa topcase which might interest you.

@Paikia44

Indeed my 1st xplorer the bracket broke off had Mtecknik rivet it back..

Den i noticed the new Xplorer by Krauser at motorworld using Krauser baseplate it no longer uses the bracket as a point to mount and thats y im back on my 2nd Xplorer by Krauser..

TS: what bike are you riding? I mean like the box also has to fit the bike haha eg: dunt think a honda wave wld look nice with xplorers... :D

Hi guys searching for krauser xplorer box where can i get it and how much?

Krauser is actually a rename of Hepco & Becker. Just like the Toyota Rush which is in fact a Diahatsu Terios.

Krasuer is available at Motorworld.

If the Aluminium box get dented.

Where is the best place to get it repaired?

Seriously...... There's not much u can do if its dented. That's why I use pelican cases as my panniers instead.

But u can try Seng Kwang or Bike Fabricator (Ah Ann: 9679 3354) and see if either of them can perhaps try to knock it back a little.

water seeps in on the trax (2nd edt) and box feels kinda flimsy

just to share...learnt a tip from mechanic...let the box lean a bit forward if possible by adjusting the base plate mounts

this way the water does not pool easily on top of box and seep in...helps a bit

My bro is looking for explorer recently.

H&B explorer = SGD525

Krasuer explorer = SGD450

Which shop quoted this price?

I m using Gobi for a year. No water leak. Can fit 1 helmet and raincoat only. Even though it looks plastic, it actually is very tough. Most importantly, it doesn't scratch my helmet when put inside.

Hi, other than name and price, is there any quality difference?

Not that I know of. I saw my friend's Krasuer Xplorer top case and it looked and felt the same. And my previous skid plate had the sticker Krauser pasted on it but the instruction manual was stated Hepco & Becker.

Hi is there is recommendation on where to get the various boxes and price for these box?

Based on recent search:

Motoworld sells Krauser (450) universal base plate (80~90)

Bike 21 sells Hepco Xplorer (525) universal base plate (~100)

One shop beside Ah Boy, Chiap Lee Co., sells Trax with plate (500)

Found out this morning when I was about to ride to work. Mine is a Hepco & Becker Xplorer top case which normally filled with just my jacket and raincoat. And when I reach work, I lock my full face helmet inside. Never exceeded the load capacity before.

rien d'autre que le max.
