Tubeless Conversion for cruisers

I Kena once puncture at NSH in the middle of the night...****, no joke! lol

Thus looking around, found this guy who brought in this tubeless conversion kit from Japan.

 

This product seems much proven in Japan, for enduros, cafes and choppers.

Its cheap and not have to spend on new rims, So i went ahead to get it.

 

 

Now testing my ride, so far so good, Distributor Adventure Inc SG, advice me to monitor tyre pressure for the time being

So far I ran a few rides up to kulai and the last one to malacca. The pressure stay good without leaking!

The kit cost me about $240, Ban Hock Hin was the authorised workshop for this installation.

They charge labour about $120, so total will be about $360.

 

so far so good for me, at least it beats spending thousands changing rims and you will find

it silly, but I do like to keep the spokeys for the classic look too.

Best for those who had new bike with spoke rims. Mine is old bike with the rim inside already rusty liao. hahahaha.

You have to contact the sales guy in Adventure Inc SG via their FB page.

The contact guy name is Shahrin and you will liase with him on stock availability and delivery to Ban Hock Hin.

 

Like Dark Angel Bro says, if the rims are a few years old there is a percentage it could not be installed due to the

quality of the rim internals...but in most cases the rims can be salvaged with extra hours of grinding and buffing

(thus incur alittle extra labor charge but all worthwhile)

 

A few Harleys has tried outex in their Phuket trip recently. No incidents, all smooth.

But please note that outex cannot be used with Rhino and Ride-ons.

We had a case where the outex adhesive failed when its mixed with Ride-on under constant high speed.

Yeah had a "great" experience when one of the riders applied Ride-On to his Outex-ed Rims.

Apparently the adhesive of the outex tapes lost it fuction after mixed with Ride-On gel under heat.

my tire rim already 14 plus yrs liao, think it is going to be a major repair liao. Actually good for those who had a new bike or just a few year old bike where the damage is minimum.

Please recommend where to go to change my rusty spokes. I can buy the spokes but I can't find a workshop who can do it.

looks good, i think better make sure to true your spoke wheels before applying, else if you tighten the spokes after applying it will cause leaks.

The tape looks dangerously close to the spoke adjustors... But it's a very good product. Diyed on my drz. Total less than $150..

@andynpepper I am also thinking of getting a R Nine T, if I do - I would be most probably importing a set of Kineo or Alpinas and get a local mech to install it here. Like you said, that's just one major deal-breaker for the Nine T.

Tubes on the 9T is not a deal breaker. The 9T is just a work of art and joy to ride. So much more hop on and go as compared to the taller R1200R that I had. ( I am 1.71m tall). The bike feels so small and nimble in the turns.

 

I'll be buying the Kineo or similar after running it in....if the wife allows.

 

Heard if you want a new one, better buy it and keep, as it is a limited production and will be stopped by end 2015.....just rumours about BMW stopping the Oilheads for good, like they have done with the R1200R for 2015.

Kineos ordered, coming at the end of the month. Wonder if there is anyone else in Singapore that is running them, if not always happy to be the first! Looking forward to getting them on the road in early April...
