How long does LTA inspection and registration take for a new bike from a dealership?

I just bought a new bike from the dealer and they told me that since the bike model was started in 2019, they need to send for inspection which can take up to 2 months at the latest. I asked if there's anything I can do to speed this up and they told me to call LTA to try to expedite the process as coming from the customer they might rush as compared to the shop.

My friend says 2 months is crazy and they can actually do it faster if they want to. Can anyone tell me if its true and if there's anything else I can do to speed things up or just wait patiently? Quite clueless about this and would appreciate any help

kind of confused here ....
you mentioned you bought a "new" bike, but then, there's this "bike model was started in 2019" ... so is new bike ?

Anyway, if the inspection is the kind that I think it is, here's the link for the info ....

- new bikes need no inspection until the 3rd year.

- the annual inspection we do is just go to inspection center, spend around 30 minutes and you are done

what kind of inspection take months ???? never hear before.

when I got my bike, today sign, next week can pick up already ... what inspection ???

maybe you try ask the dealer what is this "inspection" specifically .... ?

And I hope you haven't pay them yet ..... just in case

Thanks for replying, and sorry for the confusion. For context its the kawasaki z400 2019 model, brand new as in no previous owner and just brought into SG. The dealer mentioned because the bike is "3 years old" it needs to be sent for LTA inspection which can take up to 2 months

Bro, I went inspection recently at STA sin ming. If nobody there takes like 10-15 mins only.

Even tow to inspection at most take half day. Unless need inspection for aftermarket exhaust. Which you can get the bike first then go for inspection yourself.

initial inspection will take longer then 10-15min.. if you see before.. some bikes are left there for a couple of days - weeks.. that's the initial inspection of motorcycle by batch.. just like helmet inspection.. so for the above case.. it might work differently compared with our usual inspection..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well. :)
