shouldnt have any effect la. esp if u use those rubbing alcohol types (diluted with water, not pure 100% IPA). but then again, why do u need to use this to clean? its not cheap lei. can just use any dishwashing liquid if dirt is stubborn.

alcohol...removes a lot of stuff...including the polishing waxes..

i dont use alcohol..i use silicone spray for cleaning light dirt and it gives asmooth shine...

for stubborn dirt...as suggested use cheap washing liquid soap..round it off with silicone spray...results beautiful shine..

Yes try to stay away from solvents for cleaning as much as possible. Some can damage paintwork or rubber, some leave an oily residue. If die die must use, try rub it down at small spots. And make sure u clean it up well after that.

alcohol is a very light solvent...but will clear minute dirt/oil very well..

for heavt grease and grime...not suitable..as you will need large qty to do the job..wrong appplication..

use heavy duty soap/kerosene/diesel to do job and oil chains thoroughly...

for lube/clean chains use an oiler is the best...as it cleans and lube your chains at th same time...
