anyone know how to DIY tune carb on RVF?

2004 TA 200

2006 Comet GT 125

2006 Baby kawa 150 krr

2006 Honda RVF

2009 Honda CB 1000 R (The beast had been Release!)

2010 Yamaha FJR 1300

Next will it be BMW 1600 or quit ridding go for 4 wheel ???

END UP i drive :cry: but i really miss my fjr..

"Tuning your carbs" is not a simple job, requiring reasonable knowledge of the construction and workings of the carbs.

 

I would suggest that as a 1st step you get hold of your bukes workshop manual, original if possible, not a Hayne's or Gregories version. That will show all of the parts and the 'factory settings' for your bike.

 

You should also get hold of a 'Spark Plug Colour Chart', which will explain the difference between a sooty black spark plug and a grey/powder coloured spark plug and what that tells you about your tune.

 

Your best bet is to read as much as you can about your carbs spark plugs, ignition timing etc in the various threads on this site. Then decide if you really want to learn how to do the job yourself. Its not a simple matter of removing and replacing a couple of parts.

 

Having said that there is a lot of satisfaction in being able to 'tune' your own ride. Even more so when you can tell someone, "your bikes running a bit rich, you may want to lean her off a little"

ya i know it not simple.. i understand how the thing work only thing that stop me is that i cant find E jet needle on e carb haha. my bike is to lean and i wanna to make it more rich. any idea where to get E maunal??
