acrylic, mineral or sapphire dun really make or break a watch's appeal.....

True. But i can't live with scratches on the glass. For acrylic at least it can be easily be polish off and cheap to replace. Sapphire can shatter to pieces.

For metal parts especially the case and bracelet i prefer them brushed. Can easily brush back using ink eraser.

wa u very the oris fan hor............haha......pretty nice also....:thumb: ...so u follow F1 bcoz of oris or not......or the other round.....

rolex movements are fundamentally the same.....

3130 is the basic movement without date complication.....used on airking, exp 1, no-date sub, oyster perpetual

3135 has date feature....used on sub, ym, datejust, sd, date....

3185 has date and 24 hr red hand......used on gmt 2 and exp 2

3155...used on day-date.....

3186 is new....used on gmt 2 anniversary....and the recently launched new gmt 2 half gold

4130 used on daytona only..........totally new and in-house from 2000....before that they used modified zenith movement.......known as 4030....u can tell from the model number 16520........those 116520 comes with rolex movement.....then in mid F series, they introduced the fatter hands on the daytona, much nicer..:cheer

those boy size and ladies dun ask me.....haha i dunno.....:sorry: :

I prefer the all black GMT Master II. Only time will tell.

i see, the full black GMT used to be my 1st choice but eventually i decided to buy the pepsi instead.

cos i realised no matter how nice a watch can be from it's pic or show room, eventually still need to wear on our wrist to determined our choice is correct.

hope the full black GMT will suit u well.

on the subject of second hand rolexes....

There are many collectors in Japan and one of the most famous second hand dealers in tokyo is Satin Dolls, pricest seem quite reasonable.

I was totally tempted to get a Daytona Black face for about S$13k....

Hi explorer,

Did you mean to ask how long ago was the quote of $13k from satin doll, or how old is the daytona? :cheeky:

ha i think i was asking about how long ago was the quote............anyway one can get a 4030 daytona for about 13k in sg right now.....still pretty ex....at least more than the list price of a new daytona.....although no one sells it at list price...

Wow bonus go buy PAM. Really who knows how long this type of oversize watch trend can last. I nearly bought one although not a PAM (well it is RXW MM20). I asked around but nobody ever heard of Officine Panerai. Well i guess it depends on our profession status.

i am not too sure about the trend but pams are really nice (except for the prices they command).....i like the simple dial, the versatility u can have with all the straps out there.....and of coz the size.....looks really good on the wrist.....esp with straps.....i am not too keen on their bracelets though....the oyster bracelet is still supreme in terms of looks....

they have some models which are simply awesome....the arktos...the sub 1000....destros....wowowow :thumb:

look at this new limited series.......http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i305/oohlins/pam21355.jpg

the paneristis are mad about the historical series which are manual winding watches.... their passion for pams make me belief that the demand for pams will continue.....at least for quite some time..........the annual production still falls short of the demand.....

Wearing left handed watches on the usual left hand isnt that bad an idea also. Especially for people who like to wear their watches all the way down the end of the wrist. Watches like PAMs, or the even more exaggerated Graham, the big metals at the crown can cause some discomfort on the right side. hehe.

Now that is important when your headlights are pointing towards the sky. hehe
