got money, KTM

got money but not much, WR200

not much money (budget) DR200 or XR125/200

1st hand KTM is about $15k OTR for new young riders (considering the high COE n insurance premium)..2nd hand depends but expect around $3k to $4k for a FR plate. No 1st hand WR but a decent FQ plate can get around $2k n above (but must consider the COE renewed or not). XR125/200 or the DR200 very cheap to buy n very cheap to maintain BUT no power cos 4-stroke n its a little low considering ur height (wont give the garang look).

But it all depends on what u want ur scrambler to do. everyday riding, if u're getting the KTM or the WR, dont complain about the high fuel consumption (n wear n tear for the KTM), the need for expensive 2T, the TP n ROV chasing after u for checks (normally tyres, exhaust, missing mudflap n number plate facing the sky).

how i know? cos i used to ride a WR (FQ plate), changed PC pipe, boyesen reeds, premix blah blah blah can only manage 130km before hitting reserve.

good luck on getting ur 2B license n the search for the right bike. i've been there, done that.

u're welcome

rien d'autre que le max.

The bike is only as dangerous as the rider. Use proper road-biased tires and you'll be suprised at how low u can corner.

I ride both my dirt bike and sports bike regularly on the roads. There is no difference in "safety".

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator
